Saquon Barkley will sit out of week 18. Eric dikkerson's record is safe.

He’s been selfless all year, dude deserves it

Can’t root for the Eagles to win it cuz y’all play might play us in the playoffs and it’s cuz it’s fukk y’all but Saquon deserve this

No way if this was a QB 250 yds away from the pass record he gettin sat, I can’t see it

MUCH SAFER POSITION
WITH RULES DESIGNED TO PROTECT THEM
UNLIKE THE RB WHO GETS HIT
EVERY TIME HE TOUCHED THE BALL

As an eagles fan I'm ok with the decision, but the injury angle is lame. You can get injured at any point, even running onto the field like breh from the 49ers in the Superbowl. This record stood for 40 yrs would've been dope to see them get it, especially after the league tried its hardest to devalue the RB position.

And give me a break, you're scheduled to play a children's game for 17 weeks, you got the rest of the year for rest

Y'all keep talking about Barkley getting hurt. What about everyone else on the offense?

You can't just put your RB out there with 3rd stringers. The starters on offense would have to play. He might need to go deep into the 4th quarter to clear 100 yards. You're risking potential injuries to other players.

Barkley comes out fine but the left tackle gets his ankle rolled up on or a WR gets a concussion and you might be one and done in the playoffs.

Hurts is still in concussion protocol and the backup has a rib injury. There's no way you can play for the record with them out.

You have a week to rest and get everyone healthy while NFC teams have to play out their game for seeding. Lions and Vikings could end up with a massive injury that makes the Eagles path easier. That's a huge advantage you're willing to throw away for an individual record.

A rushing record and a loss in the playoffs is a failed season. A ring trumps everything.

I personally wanted Hurts to play to knock off rust, so I would've expected the 1st team for at least a quarter. To clear protocol all he has to do is practice once. At the end of the day it doesn't matter to me, but knowing that the team rests dudes every single week based on injury reports, they barely practice in pads, it would've been some G shyt to get the record and try to go on a run :yeshrug:

At the end of the day I obv value the superbowl, but I also know my starting QB has missed games at the end of each season and it always takes him a while to get going after missed time so it wouldve been nice to kill two birds figuratively speaking

And if Sirianni plays everyone, there's serious injuries, and they get bounced round 1 all you "get Barkley the record" people will be calling for his job.

The Super Bowl is always the end game. Make the best moves to get there.

If they wanted the record they should've been giving him enough carries to get it by game 16 or 17. This isn't the time for individual accomplishments.

That's a fair point all I'm saying is you signed up to play 17 games at the beginning of the season. I see this as no different than load management.

To counter though, as a chiefs fan do you think having your starters play in the preseason helped or hurt your team?

Preseason is irrelevant.

Rest your starters for the last game if you've clinched your spot.

Ironic that it's for the chiefts, but even though 4 years old per this article teams that rest their starters have a 33% win percentage in their first playoff game.

This article is a little older and has it at about 60%

Not trying to argue to much as I already said I don't care, but this is good data

Because this aint the first time the league has added games. So if we gonna say the 17 game record aint legit we would have to say the same about the 16 game or even the 14 game records.

The 14-game OJ record is legitimately the record as OJ was averaging 143 yards per game and nobody has come close to that.

I don't think the extra game matters or would be an asterisk if Saquon had gotten the record. dikkerson had 30 more carries than Saquon. That's the more logical comparison and clearly if Saquon played he'd end up with a similar about of carries (which is fair).

Philly did the smart thing. You played an entire season to contend for the SB in the playoffs, not to get a record in a meaningless game.

It was created for young men in college I believe?

I mean people start reading at 6, doesn't mean that reading is a child's task. Or is that your go to for everything, what age do people start? :pachaha:

Real nikkas don't vote, teenagers are allowed to vote! :birdman:
It’s still a children’s game. At the EOD these dudes getting paid millions to play a game for a living:yeshrug: I understand I have an unpopular opinion for wanting football players to play football
