“The victim was my brother and there are two sides to every story," Jose Garcia told KENS 5 on the scene. “Whether my brother was wrong or right, he had a gun pointed at him. I guess he took it upon himself to defend himself. The guy who shot him is a vigilante, not a hero. A vehicle is not worth taking someone's life, I don't care what kind of car it is. You don’t take the law into your own hands. Now my mom, my family, we all have to suffer and just deal with it.”

May he rest in piss:pacspit:

In California the shooter would be in jail and then subject to a civil trial for wrongful death

This happened I think in Chicago a few months ago. The car thief was a 13 year old and the man did the same thing, used a tracker to find his car, the kid pulled a gun out and the owner shot and killed him

People need to understand that when you STEAL someone’s property, your putting your life in danger nowadays. There are trackers for EVERYTHING and people have (justifiably) completely lost faith in the justice system. Ain’t nobody trying to wait on lazy ass, unprofessional, uncaring police to spend weeks NOT finding your vehicle while they’re stuck paying a car note and insurance on a vehicle they don’t even have anymore. Not to mention EVERYBODY is tooling up nowadays.
