Thats the sad thing. Its an amazing phone just going to suffer badly from the poor rep. Even the S7 Edge will catch some of the strays from the bad rep as people are already looking at Sammys devices as a whole now.
My guess is they kill the Note series after the 7. It's got a bad association with it now. They'll probably add the s-pen to the S8 Edge or make a new series and add it there. The name will probably go away but the concepts can be added or moved elsewhere.

That's probably for the best. They will probably come out with the spiritual successor under a different name. Unfortunately they've got the wrong eyes on this now and it doesn't seem to be getting better.

that was just an isolated incident.
Oh really? "Google S7 Edge Fire" and read the articles that come up. Anyone who has a S7 Edge knows when you charge it, the device will feel a little too warm for comfort. I have one and noticed it when I bought it at launch. Who knows how these devices will react after a few months to a year?

Here's another account of one of these phones bursting into flames while NOT Charging. If you're still using one of these phones do yourself a favor and do an the manufacturer and government requested and turn it off at the very least if not outright return it.

Do you really want this thing in your hands, pocket, of on your face burst into flames? It might not happen to you but these recent incidents those people thought the same thing and it happened to them.

Sure it's a bit of downtime without a Note but it beats the worst case scenario.

Well if Verizon wasn't bullshytting me and trying to finess money out of me for exchanging a phone that has been recalled, I would, but until then fukk IT.

Just got a email from Samsung 2 minutes ago...CPSC has approved the new replacement Note 7s. They'll be in most carrier stores no later than Sept 21st. They have some new green light indicator instead of white ones to show its the new Notes compared to the previous version.
@winb83 what are u gonna do?

Samsung is announcing that new Galaxy Note7 replacement devices will be available in the United States at most retail locations no later than September 21, 2016.

The company received approval for its exchange program from the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and has announced an official U.S. voluntary recall of the Galaxy Note7. We strongly advise all customers who have Galaxy Note7 devices to replace their current device with a new device under the terms of the U.S. Note7 Exchange Program
