To be fair if you turn down the settings to match note 5 default it will be the same if not closer I would assume. I cut off the always on screen feature and in comparison to my last note the default phone brightness is much higher and it has a higher max brightness. My battery life is noticeably better without the screen on feature alone and it's not a necessary feature for me

The always on display doesn't hurt the battery that much or at least it didn't on the S7. This phone can make it through a day easy but I find the battery life to be about on part with the flat screen S7. I already sold my S7 on Swappa for $415 so I'm sticking with this Note. From my perspective there's no reason to own the S7 over this other than tempered glass protection

I dont take advantage of it..like the off screen display option. The off screen s pen note taker? Yeah...all the time.

The s pen off screen note takerr, gifs maker, and screen write (which isn't new) sold me to keep the phone. Use both everyday. The off screen notes is really genius....makes notes way more efficient and convenient. Just pull the pen out and write
