35 devices have exploded so far just two weeks into the the release. That's a lot considering the damage an exploding battery can cause

I saw the headline yesterday, and assumed this happened to 2 or 3 people and Samsung was just being cautious. But 35 people got exploding phones :dwillhuh:

OP needs to change the thread title to "Note 7 Is About To Burn The Buildings Today Brehs :damn:"

Epic Overreaction.

Samsung will voluntarily replace your Galaxy Note 7

We reported yesterday that it was possible for Samsung to announce a recall of the Galaxy Note 7 following reports of the handset’s battery exploding. A few days ago Samsung confirmed that it was delaying shipments of the Galaxy Note 7 to perform additional quality tests on its new flagship. The company has formally announced a worldwide recall of the Galaxy Note 7 today and has said that it’s going to voluntarily replace units that have already been shipped.

Samsung says that it conducted a thorough investigation in response to the recent reports and found a battery cell issue. As of September 1 there have been 35 cases reportedly globally and Samsung is conducting a thorough inspection with its suppliers to identify possible affected batteries. To ensure customer safety Samsung has decided to stop sales of the Galaxy Note 7. The handset has been pulled off the shelves and will not be sold until Samsung fixes this problem.

Samsung is believed to have shipped close to a million units of the Galaxy Note 7 globally, this means that there are a lot of customers out there who have a Galaxy Note 7 that may or may not have a faulty battery. For customers who already have the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung says that it’s going to voluntarily replace their current device with a new Galaxy Note 7 over the coming weeks. The company says that it’s working with its partners to make sure that the replacement experience is “as convenient and efficient as possible.”

Samsung will quickly replace & swap customers old Note 7 with newer versions through the carriers then put new batteries in the old recalled units & re-sell them as refurbished

:comeon: 35 phones involved with the battery malfunction out of close to a million phones sold is minuscule.

That Armorshield doesn't work with the UAG case. It also makes the S-pen feel like crap on the screen. The problem is the case peels off the corners. I also tried my Spigen Rugged Armor case and the result is the same. Ironically it works fine in my led flip cover which doesn't even need a screen protector.

Overreaction or not, this still counts as a certified epic fail.

Let's see...
  • Exploding batteries: check
  • Worldwide recall: check
  • Sales halted in South Korea: check
  • Negative press: check
  • Momentum they were gaining on Apple: gone

Nonsense. The only "certified epic fail" is your post.

• The battery issue impacts less than 0.1 percent of Note 7 devices sold thus far.
• The close to a million customers Note 7 phones will be completely replaced with brand units from Samsung starting in a few weeks.
• The Note 7's recall isn't going to stop nor detour the vast popularity & high demand for the Note 7.
• The iPhone's "momentum" & overall sales have declined significantly prior to the Note 7's release due to lack of innovation & Apple's insistence on deleting the standard headphone jack on the upcoming iPhone 7 certainly isn't going to help Apple in it's quest to reestablish it's dominance in the smartphone market.
