There’s only speculation as to why he left, some theories I’m reading are:
1. There’s rumors floating on Twitter that he raped his sister when she was 4 years old.

2. ChatGPT is actually sentient and Sam Altman lied about it to everyone because of some main character syndrome.

3. ChatGPT is losing way more money than they anticipated and Sam Altman lied about it. They stopped allowing new subscriptions for ChatGPT Plus earlier this week, and have been lowering the amount of messages you can send to it every hour.
Oh shyt I just got GPT plus I wonder if they want to raise the price…..

I believe his sister that say he molested her. just look at duke he looks like a creep. the company lost a lot of money too I don't think they made him step down because of allegations from his sister.

I hope this doesn't hamper A.I. progress.I was really looking forward to the technological singularity.

shyt wild that we are just in a simulation that is in an inception of itself thinking that it invented something and the program is trying to figure out how to control the program not realizing it is in the program.

Why tho…? It could potentially eliminate us or we could become obsolete.
I think taking humans out of the equation when it comes to some things is good. Lets face it. Humans kind of suck when it comes to running a stable and healthy civilization for ourselves and the planet. We need a higher intelligence to solve some the issues we face, whether its climate change, disease or poverty. The best outcome with A.I. is that it could eliminate the need for most human labor, while simultaneously providing abundance for everyone the planet. We'll have to figure out new ways of being and it will inevitably cause some problems. Especially for those who've come to identify with their work/profession.

I don't think extinction is something to worry about if we align A.I. successfully. And even without A.I. we're headed for collapse due to climate change anyway. IMO A.I. is one best shots we have to avert human extinction and collapse.
