For a huge swath of people who want politics left out of their sports, they truly get mad at something like this which is a political stand whether they want to believe it or not. And I say this as someone who served in the military. Me not standing or not removing my hat doesn't make me less patriotic than the ones that do. Especially ehile wearing that uniform, some had openly questioned my allegiance to America when I spoke out about certain things which didn't match their beliefs.Salutes to Kap.

As for Colin's "Lightskin Privledge". I said this as well with the Jesse BET Speech. White Supremacy forces people with mixed parentage to choose a side. Same with Obama or even Halle Berry who both idenity as Black even though they have a white parent. It's not a matter of them not loving their white parents as much as them realizing in this society it is dominated by race no matter how they try to spin it. Because of their brown tint or African features they are considered Black. Also because of the racist one drop rule created by White Supremacy. They are considered Black. White Supremacy also caused the "Lightskin/Darkside" divide in Black Communities from as far back as slavery with the "House Slave/Field Slave" issue. That's how the whole "Good Hair/Bad Hair" was born. So in the end i'm sure some will say Darkerskinned Black Players would have more to lose if they did what Colin did. Maybe true but they just like us, have every right as Black Americans to protest the mistreatment of our people.

Let's be honest, at this point Football is being dominated by African Americans in mutiple positions. And America loves Football like a Religion. It makes BILLIONS of dollars in televsion ratings, Television Advertisment, merchidising, beer and food sales. Bars sales, Live Game Ticket and concession sales, the whole nine. So Black Americans are really driving this Multi-Billion Dollar industry. If we protest we could cause much dough to be lost. You really thought this drama wasn't going to bleed into the season? Espeically when these incidents have happen in places with Teams associated with it (Dallas, Minny, Baton R. etc). Colin was born in Miluwalkee where it just burned. In the end I expect more players to be speaking out as the year goes on in different ways. I previously said they should all protest the flag but honestly they all don't have to protest the flag but a unified statement would be nice. The point of it though, is Colin wrong to say America isn't right with how Black People are being treated? Especially when Blacks have fought in every single war and have given huge sacifices for this country including working for free for mutilple centuries. We are also continuing the long march and fight to freedom which inturn helps everyone and not just us. At the end of the day, like Jesse, Colin is risking his career and money and I respect them both for that reguardless if they lightskin brothas.
