Sounds good on paper. Imagine trying to get through the HRBT on a game night

:snoop:

Are Virginians just retarded or why does everyone come to a complete stop while going through this fukking tunnel? I drive around LA all day and at least the traffic here happens for a reason. That tunnel traffic is just a bunch of dumb motherfukkers driving slow and once they get out of the tunnel, they start driving like normal people again :mindblown: It really shouldn't be that difficult for people.

I go through fits driving behind nikkaz that got them VA tags. They go wayyyy too fukkin slow and they be fukkin retarded on the road for no kinda reason. Had to deal with one on the way to work.

Anyway, I love this idea. VA been needed a pro team, 7 cities should be more than capable of supporting a squad. I'd even love to see Baltimore get a team too so that we'll have a real DMV trifecta of squads. Move the Grizz to Seattle or sumn, move the shytty 'cats to B-More.

I'm sure more people will care about an NBA team in VA Beach than they would in Vegas. It'd be just another show on the strip...:ld:

why just move the team to vegas and call it a day

because the team would fold in 3 years or less. Nevermind the betting issues. Vegas simply can't support an NBA team night in and night out.

Putting a team in Vegas is like putting a team where Six Flags Great Adventures is in NJ. You can't rely on just tourist money to get you through in the NBA. For a boxing match? Sure. For a Vegas act? Yes. For casinos? Yes. For strip clubs? Yes. For a basketball team? They'd be begging to get out of there once they see that the market isn't conducive to supporting major sports.

Yeah just about any decent sized city is a better option than Vegas.

Vegas has a triple A baseball team and it is second to last in its 16 team league in attendance (only Tucson, AZ is lower). It is getting beat out by cities like Albuquerque NM, Fresno CA, Omaha NE, Reno NV, and, of course, Sacramento CA.

I'm sure the Vegas proponents are going to say that people go to Vegas to party, not to watch minor league baseball and that there are better things to do there, but that also kills their NBA argument. For an allstar weekend or something, Vegas is great, but who's going to be around on a Tuesday when the Hornets come to town?

the louisville metro may be bigger.

Nah. List of United States metropolitan statistical areas - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Looks like the only bigger metro areas without a team are Austin, TX and Las Vegas.

The 757 should've been had a team. They never could because the local governments of Norfolk and VA Beach can never compromise on anything. I don't know why they designed the place that way. It's the only area in the country with 7 cities packed together like that. Growing up there, I thought it was just normal to have 7 cities in one region like that. Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Suffolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Hampton, and Newport News should be one or two cities.

Of course the ATL
757 born and raised. Largest metro area in the country without a pro team. It's been a long time coming. Hope it happens.

Las Vegas is bigger :ld:

I did some research & Virginia Beach's metro area is bigger than Charlotte, Milwaukee, Memphis, Salt Lake City, Oklahoma City & New Orleans. I still don't think they should get a team, but they're big enough to support one :yeshrug:
