Not only did he shoot. He unloaded damn near the whole clip. Down right malice. He shouldn't even be making it to trial.

from the end of slavery to around 1944 I believe, only ONE white man was ever convicted during all those lynching. Remember that.
Edit, it was 2 white men convicted of 1st degree murder in 1921. No conviction of them again till 1966.
