It's legal in all states except NY, and CA. It's a rifle. Handguns have different rules in certain places. Just dumb to leave it in the truck. But folks will probably still over react.

My point is, the media scrutiny for a black athlete doing the same would open the door to the Dan Patricks of the world as an invitation to talk guns and black culture. Thats just what they want you to think. White folks pack more heat than whole hoods. Why do you think gun laws are so stagnant in this country? Because white folks maintain that right to bear arms. Hopefully brothas start doing the same. Purchase and maintain your weapons legally. They'll convince you to put your guns away without putting theirs away. I'm not saying you'll ever need it, or there will be any kind of domestic war, but its better to be educated on the laws and prepared, than to not be.
