Why, because he's not the hot Black director of the month right now?:childplease:

There isn't a director out there that will give you a better depiction of the character and world than Hudlin.

All these directors being linked with the film are being approached instead of gravitating towards the character and concept itself out of genuine interest. That should be a massive red flag to you.
whats the bolded based on?

I agree with your last part though, if these directors are interested in this project they should make it known. Fruitvale and Creed were good movies but mostly due to the acting and story material, the direction in both was nothing to write home about :yeshrug:

He's already written and worked on the character with success. Successfully rebooted and further modernised the character which resulted in the highest comic sales. Along with making a story that was a critical and commercial success (adapted into an animation/show) that can easily be turned into a film/origin adaptation. Most importantly he knows how the character should be presented, along with having a passion for the character.

You will not find a Hollywood director who will talk about the character this way:

I don't gotta name any directors because I think many talented directors would be capable of pulling this off, if it comes down to one simple thing and that's creative freedom.

Now regarding Hudlin, the bolded is something I agree with because he popularized Black Panther again for modern audiences, largely due to the marriage with Storm but frankly, his run on Black Panther sucked ass. It was poorly plotted, poorly written and not the least bit interesting, and if the book hadn't been handed to Jonathan Mayberry it would've fallen off even faster after the marriage-hype (than it still kinda did). And Hudlin might care, he really might, but that doesn't make him a capable film director all of a sudden either. Because he's not, a capable film director, in any way.
