Opinion: Seeing the world through Putin's eyes - CNN

"
That Putin will double down in the near-term with a scorched-earth strategy that targets civilians does not mean he can endure rising costs over the long term. The West must recognize Putin is not one for maintaining the status quo or playing by others' rules. But he's not the suicidal type either if escalating pressure is brought to bear.
The future hinges on accurately gauging Putin's intentions through his mindset and worldview, not ours, a capacity for which the West -- particularly the United States -- has been historically lacking."

These Internet Streetz
if Ukraine gets missiles capable of precision strikes on military targets in Moscow, should they? :lupe:
i would never start with moscow. that would be the ukrainian equivalent of M.A.D. missiles landing in moscow would probably trigger the use of tactical nukes against ukraine. i would only use long range missiles to hit targets bunched up on the other side of the border. especially that train system, or maybe more fuel depots.

Putin does not have the resources to maintain a prolonged conflict of this scope.
this is an all hands of deck situation for him and he has tied many of his hands behind his back in many ways.
in the long, rich history or Russia the strong man offs anyone who has potential to steal shine from him.
yeah, that makes you the biggest fish in the lake but what happens when you venture out into the ocean?
Putin got too used to being a shark in an aquarium.
now he's in the ocean getting circled by orcas.

The exasperated KGB officer argued that the White races of Russia and the US should live and let live politically and focus instead on "the fifth column threats we shared from mongrels," and the north-south challenges from "the less civilized who had to be brought to heel."

His narrative addressed "the historic ravages of marauding Mongolian hordes," code for China, to "the Turkish barbarians across the 'stans of Central Asia." Entirely lucid, albeit certainly intoxicated, he laced his observations with misogyny, ethnic slurs and comments regarding American decadence, ranging from gays to fast food and, ironically, substance abuse.
more than believable because this is the approach russia used to cultivate the republican party.

Наступление России и нового мира

I don't know if this article was posted yet, but :pachaha: presumptuous as fukk!

Written right at the beginning of the invasion, then immediately deleted. Internet don't forget. :wow:

Russia is restoring its unity - the tragedy of 1991, this terrible catastrophe in our history, its unnatural dislocation, has been overcome. Yes, at a great cost, yes, through the tragic events of a virtual civil war, because now brothers, separated by belonging to the Russian and Ukrainian armies, are still shooting at each other, but there will be no more Ukraine as anti-Russia. Russia is restoring its historical fullness, gathering the Russian world, the Russian people together - in its entirety of Great Russians, Belarusians and Little Russians. If we had abandoned this, if we had allowed the temporary division to take hold for centuries, then we would not only betray the memory of our ancestors, but would also be cursed by our descendants for allowing the disintegration of the Russian land.

Now this problem is gone - Ukraine has returned to Russia. This does not mean that its statehood will be liquidated, but it will be reorganized, re-established and returned to its natural state of part of the Russian world.

From the article:

"Putin is the embodiment of a lifetime of such conditioning whose actions illustrate a firm belief in the more grotesque and literal sayings from Sun Tzu and Machiavelli that the ends justify the means. Ukraine, he believes, like other former Soviet states, are historically conquered parts of Russia because that is what he was conditioned to believe

These territories' population, while in his eyes ethnically and socially inferior to Russians of his own high-bound caste, are rightfully its citizens and serfs. Dehumanizing them as well as claiming threats from within enable the use of purges, starvation and concentration camps like those Josef Stalin used without hesitation. And it likewise accounts for the outlook behind Putin's comments on a "self-purification of society," and his brutal strategy in Ukraine."

So basically Putin and Russians view Ukraine/Belarus as White Americans would view, say... Canada, or even Australia. Ethnically the same and historically similar enough to be willing to let them live as long as they arent a threat. And they view the Stan countries like White Americans view Latin America... underneath them racially but still claim leadership over the area and will jump in to "protect" them from outside threats (Monroe Doctrine) that threaten their hegemony on the region.

Our enemies are more like some of our countrymen than we'd like to believe :wow:
