That’s absolutely why so many MAGA types have loved Putin for years. He represents what they wish the U.S. was more like, and what they’re scared the U.S. is moving more and more away from. They want a nation that is white, conservative, Christian, anti-immigrant, against multi-culturalism, unapologetically bigoted, with leanings towards facism and authoritarianism, etc.

And BTW These folks on the far right hate when black people, women, and other non-white males don’t “know their station”. They only tolerate those people when they’re in societal roles that are acceptable in their eyes.

They fantasize about an ethnostate and Russia is about as close to one as can be found.
