Not everything is about America dude. Ukraine has one of Russia's largest naval base and their industries supplied a lot of components to Russia (especially aircraft engines) not to mention there's lot of Russian speaking people in Eastern Ukraine. So pretty sure losing Ukraine to NATO is far bigger threat to Russia's security than losing Far East to China. If Western nations didn't topple the pro Russian government in Ukraine Putin won't go this far to get revenge on them. Also unlike Western nations that support the Ukrainian protesters to install a pro western government in Ukraine, China support Russia in Kazakhstan and respect their sphere of influence. So which is the bigger threat from Russia's perspective?
