The head of the Wagner force said Saturday he has ordered his mercenaries to halt their march on Moscow and retreat to their field camps in Ukraine to avoid shedding Russian blood.

The announcement from Yevgeny Prigozhin appeared to defuse a growing crisis. Moscow had braced for the arrival of the private army led by the rebellious commander. And President Vladimir Putin had vowed he would face harsh consequences.

so he did all this to weaken pootin and show that he could if he wanted to? nah they'll regroup and there will be reprisals. as a man who lacks honor he should know he can't trust another like him.

The man is a fool if he doesnt march to Moscow

Especially when the Russian military has shown to attack his soldiers

everything the russian MOD was doing to them before will now be amplified. when they are fighting ukranians and calling in strikes, comms will conveniently be cut off. they aren't giving you another chance to run up on them like this.

Either way its a bad look for Putin that Lukashenko was the one that stopped the insurrection... if true.
Yeah, Putin looking like a chump. He let his private army rebel, they were marching towards the capital like it was a vacation trip, there's tons of reports he's fled the capital AND he's got his lapdog doing the negotiating? No matter what happens next, is hard picturing him maintaining his position unless he goes full :demonic: on someone :francis:

If this coup is a success, all hell will break loose. If it fails all hell will break loose.
Even if it isn’t, how is the Kremlin going to save face? Indefinite martial law? They are losing on all fronts here and that buffer they tried to insulate Moscowites is gone. Russian’s had a tacit agreement with Putin’s regime - “we stay out of politics and national affairs so long as our standard of living is stable and secure.”

Wagner put their cards on the table and anyone who aids them wont have any recourse. If this continues, they’ll have to move troops from Ukraine because their “one enough guards” strategy doesn’t look like it’s going to work.

Edit: Nvm “it’s over” apparently. What kind of dog and pony show are they running over there?

If it's over what guarantees are they giving him? Why would he run such a risk and not go for the juggernaut?
We don't know Prigozhin's true motives though. We know what he's said publicly, so that's an option (full military support and control of the Ukraine campaign could be options), but we have no clue what his ulteriors motives are so there's a side of negotiations we are blind to.
