Ukraine helicopter crash kills interior minister in Kyiv as fighting rages on in east

Ukraine's interior minister and a child were among at least 14 people killed on Wednesday when a helicopter crashed into a nursery and set it ablaze in a suburb of the capital Kyiv.

Sixteen people including Ukraine's interior minister and other senior officials were killed on Wednesday when a helicopter crashed in a suburb outside Kyiv, the national police chief said.

The helicopter came down near a nursery in the town of Brovary on the capital's eastern outskirts. Two children were among the dead and 10 were in hospital, officials said

Officials gave no immediate account of the cause of the crash and there was no immediate comment from Russia, which invaded Ukraine last February.

Ukrainian interior minister Denis Monastyrsky killed in helicopter crash, police say
Ukrainian Interior Minister Denis Monastyrsky is among three ministers killed in the Brovary helicopter crash, Ukrainian National Police Chief Ihor Klymenko said.

“The crash killed the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - the Minister, the First Deputy Minister and the State Secretary,” Klymenko said.

At least 16 people died in the crash, nine of whom were aboard the helicopter when it went down near a kindergarten and residential building in the Kyiv region, Klymenko said earlier.

So what are the big updates over the last month or so? Been out of the loop. I see the pro-Putin crowd is back on the Coli talking about Ukraine is losing again. I had figured it was about to get too cold/snowy for much progress on either side to occur, after that big Ukrainian offensive. And while I'm behind the loop it seems like that's the case? As in no major losses have occurred for either side since then.

Don't get me wrong, this is a big war but in terms of a WW2, it's a drop in the bucket. Tells us we (western allies & adversaries) aren't prepared for another global scale conflict and I'm sure has militaries around the world rethinking current assumptions
