The deep chasms of my mind
Things like this is why this man shouldn't have been elected

I mean Hillary was a bad choice but this guy is going to have an effect on laws for decades

Can anyone post a link to some of these attorneys he wants gone?! CNN is now reporting this, btw.

EDIT: Robert Costa also saying that a purging of ranks has been common in previous ranks. Not a big deal, I suppose.

an update on that news

It is not unusual for a new administration to seek the dismissal of political appointees, particularly those of a different party. In March 1993, then-Atty. Gen. Janet Reno sought the resignations of U.S. attorneys appointed by President George H.W. Bush, a move that sparked intense criticism from conservative commentators.

Attorneys general under Presidents Obama and George W. Bush generally tried to stagger departures over a few months.

When Obama was weighing how to handle the situation, former top prosecutors and the leader of an association that represents front-line federal prosecutors urged the administration to take a different approach than Reno. Firing U.S. attorneys en masse could harm continuity, they told the Washington Post in March 2009, and throw "law enforcement efforts into disarray."

Yeah it's not unusual but at least one of these attorneys has come forward and stated that both Trump and Sessions originally asked him to stay on and now they want his resignation.

The call for resignations applies to Preet Bharara, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, The New York Times reported.

The move is a surprise, as Bharara reportedly met with Trump after the election and agreed to remain in his position during the Trump administration. Sessions also asked him to stay, the prosecutor told The New York Times.

This one isn't that outrageous, the Clinton administration did this as well, and Bush did like 8. It's not unprecedented, but that doesn't mean that this administration isn't a complete fukking joke.
I saw this on MSNBC.
This happened right after Trump tweeted about being investigated/snooped. Attorneys who were initially assured that their positions will be safe have been fired. Context is everything.

But in an effort to appear "rational" and "level-headed", many of ya'll just end of losing the script altogether. :francis:

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
The prison population is going to go up under sessions. This is just step one. The next step is appointing people who will lock people up for bullshyt and enforce max sentences instead of being fair and smart. Complete reversal of Criminal Justice Reform that lowered the prison population.
That is what happens when conservatives/repubs get control. they would rather minorities be in jail and have Americans pay for incarceration, than fund schools, programs, opportunities for folks to succeed. I do realize that it is not just the repubs that historically pulled for higher prison populations, but this administration is hardly able to mask the nationalist idealism, if at all. It's the confused, uneducated base, who just want to feel like they are better than someone, anyone.

I view Sessions as Conservative on steroids when it comes to Criminal Justice/Criminal Law.

Wasn't aware that there jobs were assured, just saw it on the news about 2 or 3 hours ago. Not sure why they left that part out and made it seam like it was a pretty routine this with new administrations.

This CNN news anchor said that Sean Hannity called for a clean out in the DOJ yesterday, Trump is friends with him and today it happens. :ohhh:
This fukking nut actually speaks on the phone with Alex Jones. Anybody with any amount of celebrity has access to this guy as long as they are willing to kiss the ring and only say good things.
