Agricultural and environmental factors favor Ukraine when it comes to growing wheat. Poor soil quality across much of the continent, extreme climates, and water scarcity make it difficult to grow wheat in most areas. There is also a lack of agricultural infrastructure and technology needed to support large-scale wheat farming. Millions of tons of wheat is still produced on the continent, but that's not enough to keep up with demand. Only 12% is coming from Ukraine and 32% from Russia, with the majority of that going to Egypt.
Not to mention China gets the vast majority of its wheat from Ukraine too.
Manufacturing capacity is a much smaller factor than climate and soil. If China with its vast amount of land and industrialization needs to import most of its wheat… why do people think the continent of Africa should just be able to do what they can’t. Same reason why the US imports most of its bananas, mangoes and other tropical fruit.

Ukraine had nukes installed on their land but all the codes for said nukes were in Moscow. It is like North Dakota claiming they have nukes, physically sure but they have no way of launching them. Ukraine gave up their nukes because they couldn’t use them or upkeep them in 91. Russia didn’t really force them and the U.S. wanted to limit who had nukes they didn’t want another nuclear powered country in Europe outside of France, Russia, and the U.K.
