This is something I don’t understand with NFL fans, some teams don’t have this luxury because they simply don’t tank seasons. The reasons the Steelers were stuck with garbage ass QB’s until Ben arrived was because they were still respectable and they got lucky that he dropped to 11.

Same shyt with the Ravens and Lamar who dropped to the bottom of the 1st that year.

This signing is for the upcoming season but let’s say he shows his ass and they have no choice but to resign him (another team friendly contract because Denver is still on the hook) but what is the long term plan because PICKit ain’t it. IMO they have to draft someone this year right?

Rudolph showed something, wouldn't have minded him back but he's gonna cost more then 1.2. Pickett baby hands was that bad that Rudolph gained my respect, he had half the production that bum had in 3 games. He's a decent back up and not a QB3

Tomlin got to the playoffs with Kenny Pickett, Mitch Trubisky and Mason Rudolf. It’s not surprising what he’s doing with Russ.

What is the end game for the Steelers here? They aren't winning a Super Bowl with Russ under center. They may be good enough to eke out a winning record next season. What's the point of going hovering around 8-9 wins and be a one and done in the postseason.

Does Tomlin really believe that the Russ he'd be getting (mediocre with flashes of brilliance) would really put the Steelers over the top?

It would make more sense to play Pickett/Rudolph and get a QB in 2025 with hopefully a top 5 pick.

Steelers have built up enough goodwill to suck for a season of two to secure their QB of the future.
