Don't do cardio before the weights. It will affect the amount you can lift.

This. Anybody saying otherwise on some bs. Either do them right after or do the cardio at a different time (i.e. Morning cardio, weights at night)

I run before lifting, it doesn't affect me all that much. I know I should be doing it after lifting, but when I'm done lifting weights all I wanna do is go home. I do cardio after weights in summer though by running/biking home

Run after you lift... When you lift first at an intense level, your body burns off all your reserve carbs, protein, and uses it for energy...

So when it comes time to hit the treadmill... The only thing left in your body to use for energy will be Fat and Oxygen ....

he means you will be too tired to lift heavy weights.

I believe cardio and lifting shouldnt be done on the same day :manny:

c/s ive always sworn by alternating

if you can do them in succession your probably not doing one of them 100%

I'll do a 5 minute jog on the treadmill before I lift. Between that and my warm up sets, I'm usually ready to get it in.

:whoa:

as long as its not leg day you should be good.
another thing is one is anaerobic and the other is aerobic, so people should be fine if you think about it.

Here are some articles you can read to learn more about it: Bodybuilding.com - HIIT Articles!

In a nutshell, HIIT is a form of cardio that involves short bouts at high speed/intensity with periods of rest. I don't know much about Insanity to know if it incorporates HIIT into the workouts. HIIT, when done effectively, can burn a lot of body fat in a short period of time and will not make you lose the muscle you build from your workouts.

Quoted the wrong person but just an FYI, Insanity uses Max Interval Training though not HIIT.
