People hear/read good things about a movie, they are going to check it out.

That is what happened with Wonder Woman.

BvS, MOS, and Suicide Squad would have made even more money had they actually not been panned by the general public. WB killed its DC film brand with these not up to par movies.

Wonder Woman's success is even more amazing when you think about it. It won in spite of the stigma of the DC film brand.

The public also knew WW was the exception and not the rule because they were not hyped to see Justice League. And they were right. Would have been more of the same, but WB with the edits probably made it even worse.

I would argue that Suicide Squad made as much money as it did because of word of mouth. People actually liked it despite how flawed it was.
It held the #1 spot for 3 weeks and was in the top 10 for 8 weeks off of some seriously savage critical reviews.
It was one of those movies where critical reviews didn't match up with audience response at all.

Theg have pressure to live up to the Nolan movies.Thats what created this whole DC mess in the first place.These movies take themselves way too seriously. I still blame Lois mostly for ruining Superman/DC.Everything goes to shyt the moment she shows up in these films.

Exactly,but you can't blame them for not understanding that until it didn't work. Plus you can't say "they didn't need to be like the Batman trilogy" in hindsight,and have it be true. They were coming off critical acclaim,as well as the fans loved those Batman movies. So its a good chance DC movies would have been compared to Batman movies,that was there brand. I think they gave fans a taste and fans have now realized we don't think that it works. They could have immediately went another direction,but the saying in Hollywood is if it ain't broke don't fix it.

They were probably just too ambitious in trying to build their own universe,Or at least the director or studio lacks the patience. MOS was great until they ttried to pigeonhole Lois in for no reason whatsoever,thats when the story goes to shyt,just to include her. Then you have them rushing to enter Batman,Wonder Woman and Aquaman into the mix smh. Don't get me started on Doomsday showing up by movie 2. They really put what could have been 5 or 6 movies and jammed it all into 3 films.

Its really too late to turn back,they gotta blow the whole thing up. They only holding on to this thing for Wonder Woman more than likely.

Its crazy just how bad Snyder ended up being. I loved his work on 300 and the watchmen directors cut so much it almost seemed like a whole other guy. How could u make some unknown heroes from the watchmen so dope yet can't handle the big league heroes that already have known back stories and villains. Should have been easy money and a career builders smh
