I will wait for official word on what this service aims to provide and its tiers for final judgement.

But my initial thoughts are:

A restructure of current PSN services.
A slight change to PS Now adding select PS5 (read ‘old PS5’) titles to PS Now.
A marketing point to combat Game Pass even though they aren’t the same thing.

The above should have been done at the PS5 launch. I doubt we will be impressed by whatever comes from this.

They should offer day 1 discounts for all exclusives if they aren't gonna release them for free like gamepass.

Sony probably doesn't have the revenue to do what Microsoft is doing and day 1 free exclusives is a big deal. Sony has to fo something to compete with that, a 20-30 percent discount for new exclusives for subscribers would have people sign up just for the savings.
At least you get it. All I'm saying is this has to be more than a legacy game service bundled with PS+. There should be some sort of advantage to a customer's to sub beyond old games and online multiplayer.

If every month they offered even 40% off one digital game depending on the price I would sign up. If all they're offering is legacy content on a drip feed and online multiplayer congratulations you're now thinking like Nintendo in the online space.

I think they should make new content for the service separate from their AAA offerings. Smaller scale stuff and experimental offerings or let the dev teams try new things here.

You still on the fanboy shyt. Microsoft has 20 million plus subscribers thats a quarter billion a month. Sony can't let this continue as more games and third-party titles are locked in agreements with Microsoft. It's business 101. They have to create a service to gain a competitive edge. If they allow Microsoft to gain a significant lead that shyt will be too late. You think Sony shareholders will allow that shyt to happen.

Consoles sold don't mean shyt in this discussion

Name a 3rd party AAA title on Gamepass Day 1.

newsflash, there isn't.

You want the major ticket revenue before the streaming/rental revenue.

No they don't. They're the industry leader for a reason and the Big 3rd Party companies want to avoid doing that at all costs. These games costs major bread to make and the only reason MS doing this shyt is to try and get Gamepass poppin. They aren't making bookoo bread on this shyt. The Day 1 Bread they could make on HI and still drop it a year later on Gamepass would still be fine.

Their goal is to make GP the premier streaming service, but there is nothing stopping their competitors from doing the Same (well, Nintendo don't give a fukk).

Until MS brings non Xbox users over to GP, it's a moot point IMO.

Playstation Revenues are more than Nintendo and Xbox combined. They don't need to do shyt.

shyt is really like releasing Infinity War on Disney Plus Day 1. I'd fire every goofy who would suggest some dumb shyt like that. :mjlol:

Let's discuss this. If Microsoft have 28 million subscribers which will be there pretty soon:
They have two subscriber base at 9.99 and 14.99 per month

28 million subs X $12.50/month= 350 million MONTHLY, or an average of 4.2 billion yearly. That isn’t even counting Xbox series sales either. Moot point it doesn't count the sales of games on GamePass. I bought MLB the show and will be buying Halo etc..
Xbox is making roughly as much 2/3rds of Sony’s profits with game pass alone. Just keep in mind how this will further bolster the studio’s developing games for game pass plus more future acquisitions, and driving even higher sub numbers and continuously bolstering itself

We are done with hardware sales that shyt is a plus not the be all stand all. You see what Jim Ryan said, "I want Sony games to be played everywhere"... Meaning he need people in the Sony ecosystem digitally. The next gen won't be physical. You got Xbox One S and a Compaq Presario running Forza Horizon with no fukking issues bro.

Why do you think Xbox could care less about Xbox Series X in stores... They sold Series S and put the Series X in the data centers.

With Gamepass, their revenue is still less than half of Playstation. Sony finally coming up with a program that combines Plus/Now is only going to make that number go up as well. Xbox has ZERO traction outside of here and the UK. And that ain't changing anytime soon.

Until that GP number starts growing noticeably, it don't matter.

Cut a check to get major 3rd party games on there Day 1 would make people think. Until then, it don't matter. :snooze:
