Spider-Man 2 sold MORE on PS5 compared to TOTK sold on the Switch.

16% of PS5 users bought Spider-Man 2.
13% of Switch users bought Tears of the Kingdom.

RUST sold less than 1% compared to how many PC gamers are out there. HORRIBLE sales. 16 million sales when there's almost 2 billion gamers on PC alone. Horrible numbers. :wtf:

Spare me the maniac response though.

Difference between Spider Man 2 and Rust is about $300 million in budget, and spider man 2 is on ps5 where yall starving for games since only 3 games come out a year vs PC where we always full cause we have so many options :blessed:

It's sad how Xbox reached this point because some certain executives just care about the money. I've never been into the bullshyt of console wars but when you see the image of the brand being ported to their competitors, yea Phil can tell whatever the fukk he wants, it's over.

In a way, it's sad because the console it's not the problem, it's a great piece of hardware. The people behind it are the problem. How Xbox division managed to fukk this entire generation and sell even less than the worst generation they had? Laughable.

Now, seems like the next generation (if have new hardware. I know they already told they will release a next-gen console more but from there, words means nothing) how they pretend to gather people to buy consoles? Game Pass? That isn't even helping this gen but hey, somehow they think this is the way. :pachaha:
Wouldn't be the first time this gen alone MS said one thing and did another

I don't see the point for another Xbox if everything's on Playstation. Most customers not online warring probably feel the same and most data probably shows it too. We've seen them restructure on the fly after the acquisitions so them having a change of heart on another console wouldn't be surprising. I think this gen is it, they finish reselling the backlog this gen to PS customers, maybe some more friendly games they own find their way onto the Switch/Switch 2. Then go full publisher next gen and it makes sense for MS

The ones assed out are MeachTheBozo and Sad Titan. Could you imagine spending decades of your life stanning and waving Xbox flags, twisting up your fingers into a M & S but you're 40+ so your arthritis flares up, just for a bald indian & 10 gallon head Tim to sell your life work right from under you? Never saw a penny from any of it, it was blood, sweat, and tears and love for the game. They would've done this shyt til they died, look at em still fighting for their lives. Men & corporations can change but war never does :wow:

Wait, why is there no money in reimplementing Windows code? Current consoles cannot perform tasks such as video editing, multitasking, I mean it literally is not a fully capable PC yet. What im speaking of is PCs built literally for gaming with even keeping the official Xbox platform but also being able to switch to a classic desktop experience thereby eliminating the need for both a computer and console (for those who previously only had a console).

I think admitting defeat in console sales silently by shifting focus to PC sales is the way to go.

That comment was in relation to a scenario in which they use SteamOS, which doesn't use native Windows stuff. That would be more of a gaming purpose device with the option of going full desktop that will be available sooner rather than later. It being Linux though, they'd lose on licensing.

Ideally, they would have another, slimmer version of Windows just for gaming - which is essentially what the Xbox runs. Just carve up Windows S edition and you're basically there. You can boot straight into Steam Big Picture Mode as it stands, but you have some heft without combing over services and such. It can be improved.

For the PC focus, it makes sense. MS Windows is the most used desktop OS out there. But, MS has also fumbled their own trying to capitalize PC gaming endeavors twice in the past, three if you include the Windows Store publishing push.

Y'all gaming knowledge puts me to shame. That's really why I fell back from talking sht and faded into obscurity cause I'm no match for any nikka that knows why SteamOS was built off Linux instead of Windows.

Speaking of which, why? Is Linux THAT much less stressful on hardware than Windows? I thought the options were PC vs Mac with only the nerdiest of nerds opting for Linux. Seems odd they would build their whole OS off a basically niche platform.

I admit Im talking out of my ass at this point though because I have zero knowledge on Linux and why it's still even used at all

Oh and what were the PC gaming fumbles? I don't think they've ever tried in the past to completely shift focus to PC gaming while throwing conventional ideas of consoles in the bushes

If you mean performance or the feeling of, Linux is "less stressful" on hardware because there's normally less stuff running and - being honest - there's the refinement due to newer hardware being sort of ass on Linux so making older stuff work as good as new is always something on the mind. There's a lot of modularity in the desktop space that makes keeping the overhead low easy to do.

Linux is fairly universal. It tries to run on everything. Its open source. Its niche in the normal consumer space for PCs but most network infrastructure, servers and so on run Linux. Most super computers run Linux. Android devices are Linux. Etc.

As to why Valve would opt for Linux for SteamOS is mostly due to the open platform, collaborative development, and modularity. Valve never liked that MS was building the walled garden on PC with the Windows Store way back so I guess they explored options if it got too silly. This was Ballmer era so the chance of MS strangling everyone to use the Store was a real possibility.
