It could be. That cancelling the comic before the movie was petty. I know if I were in their shoes I would probably just hold on to it and take the L. Just keep putting out shytty movies with a low budget just so they can't get it back.

Them cancelling the comics for FF4 and Xmen had more to do with Fox not giving up more of their cuts for the merchandising on FF/Xmen stuff.

I don't think its necessarily the character issue, more so they have the juice now and want all their character's back. I was looking up some info on the whole thing and Marvel doesn't want Fox to receive any promotion from them. They didn't even allow toys to be made from DotFP. They even changing their own lore in the books to get characters away (Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch). Why get petty especially with a company that saved you from bankruptcy and put your characters on tv in the 90's. They should have been able to work out some deal but if I were at Fox I wouldn't give them back anything with the stunts they pulling, especially with their investments in the cartoons and movies benefiting Marvel prior.

With the supposed trade off of X-men TV rights for FF movie rights Marvsl seems to be conceding that Fox will not be giving up the X-men rights for any foreseeable future. X-men is fox's ONE comic franchise they haven't managed to fukk up.

And honestly they can have it. The MCU is positioning Inhumans as their "mutants" so it's Ll good
