The skrull rights were tied up with the fantastic 4. That's why everyone wants their rights back at Marvel, they carry a lot of other characters with them, including some of the best Marvel villains.

I wouldn't doubt this Spidey went back and the last film made bank the last FF flopped it's entire being out.

Half Right. ASM2 made over 700M and Sony still managed to LOSE or Barely break even money on it.
The budget was 255M, 435M with marketing.. A film has to make around 2.5-3x the budget to be profitable. It made 700M (Studio has to split with theatres). Then you got the money from dvds/brs/streamin etc. Spidey went back because Sony didn't know what they were doing with it or how to make it the billion dollar franchise they wanted it it to be. Before ASM2, they were talking about ASM3, a Venom Movie, and a Sinister Six movie. ALL that got canned when ASM2 hit.

It could be. That cancelling the comic before the movie was petty. I know if I were in their shoes I would probably just hold on to it and take the L. Just keep putting out shytty movies with a low budget just so they can't get it back.
