Posted this in the other thread. Just jokes man don't get angry.

PS5 - 13.3 RDNA 2.0 Flops
You read it first here folks ;)

Prepare to be absolutely blown away by not just revealing over 13tflops GPU power for PS5 in PSM [2] February 2020.

People are either going to crucify you, or praise you for being a prophet. Bookmarked!
Btw, any chances of 7nm EUV? I don't see them hitting those clocks with regular 7nm.
A Little less (0.2) than XseX CPU clock speed.Physiognomonics said:
Do you happen to know the CPU clocks of PS5 ? I think the big surprise will be about the ram: maybe 24 GB.

PlayStation 5 is supposedly slightly more powerful than the Xbox Scarlett.
Slightly.
No I can't really elaborate or go into more detail but.....yeah, my friend, who has been making games since the Dreamcast Era, and who is developing software for both Next-gen consoles said PS5 has the edge.
You will (compared to Scarlett family's memory type). You have to wait until February 2020 for full PS5 reveal (They will show the box too, unlike PS4)

When I asked him about the SSD, he got visably nervous. Didn't want to talk about it at all.
Kleegamefan said:
Nah. It's fast, it just seems like Sony's SSD system (hardware /software)might be really, really fast.
That said, don't worry about Scarlett. It's plenty, plenty powerful.

And before anyone asks, I know very little about PS5 SSD other than it is highly specialized/custom and has mega performance.
I think if anyone talks about it, SIE will issue an immediate Order 66 on the guilty party.
Patent dive into Sony SSD solution
PS5 - a patent dive into what might be the tech behind Sony's SSD customisations (technical!)
This will be one for people interested in some potentially more technical speculation. I posted in the next-gen speculation thread, but was encouraged to spin it off into its own thread. I did some patent diving to see if I could dig up any likely candidates for what Sony's SSD solution might...

The TLDR is
- some hardware changes vs the typical inside the SSD (SRAM for housekeeping and data buffering instead of DRAM)
- some extra hardware and accelerators in the system for handling file IO tasks independent of the main CPU
- at the OS layer, a second file system customised for these changes
all primarily aimed at higher read performance and removing potential bottlenecks for data that is written less often than it is read, like data installed from a game disc or download.

Based on this:
- There would be no need for GPU decompression as the custom SSD has its own hardware accelerator.
- The solution means PS4 games via BC could all benefit from the fast loadings by default: all PS4 games on PS5 could have super quick loadings like shown in the Spiderman demo.

I choose to believe you. Know something about games ?
New FPS flagship from one of sony fp studios you literally won't believe ;)SOCOM or Killzone?
Conclusion
If we add everything together we should get something like this for the PS5:
Custom AMD Zen 2-based CPU (8 cores @ 3.4 GHz)
Custom AMD Navi-based GPU (52 CU @ 2.0Ghz - 13.3 TF - RDNA 2.0)
- APU on 7nm+/7nm EUV process, could explain the high clocks
8GB HBM2 + 16 GB DDR4 RAM solution? (4GB DDR4 reserved for OS, power efficiency of HBM2 could be reason for higher GPU clocks)
NVMe SSD with custom controller (focus on read speeds, free CPU by integrated decompression)
I think the RAM and SSD parts are actually much much more interesting than the final TF count. We actually know very little about both PS5 solutions, not a lot of leaks in that direction. Maybe Sony is planning something special and tries hard to keep it secret? Thanks for the read if you made it this far.
