There is a price hike for the 4K multiple stream stuff to 20 bucks.

They wanna say that's the highest streaming service but I don't think you can get four ppl on Netflix. Paramount/peacock is only three.

I cannot express enough how much I hate David Zazlav.

Not only has he destroyed the Discovery brand to the point where it's now E and Bravo status, he actually thinks the HBO brand is what's hurting Max and that the Discovery content is worth paying a premium for.

The reason I liked HBO Max, was it was so much cleaner and tasteful, if that makes sense, esp. in 2021. It had the prestige stuff, which is all I want.

Whenever I want to look for something to watch, which is rare, I usually have something in mind, and I hate going to Netflix, because it's like a Walmart aisle, just junk and noise and chaos. Middle American programming.

Now, I have to see ads for trailer trash styled programming on Discovery lol

when what I want is the elitist aesthetic of HBO

I get what you're saying. HBO has put forth the appearance of being more discerning with the type of content they developed. Even their trashier shyt still seemed like it was developed with a little more of a specific purpose, and shyt would just not get developed, or straight up cancelled if it wasn't a fit. Some of those Discovery shows make peak Love and Hip Hop fukkery look distinguished on comparison.

What you're complaining about ain't serious at all. There's an HBO hub. Nobody is forcing you to watch Discovery content. I get what you're saying about "prestige" element of the service but it makes no sense for their bottom line to keep everything separate, people are not looking to pay for multiple services.

their whole plan involves most of their discovery + fanbase signing up for max so they're trying to make it more simple for them
the idea is that if you get that person who pays only $7.00 a month right now to pay $20 you'll win
they already have all the HBO customers so they're like you'll be here regardless and we don't have to do much to keep you here
but the less sophisticated viewer hates current HBO Max and has been staying away from it or don’t use it as heavy
