Another deflection Lol.. yes i've used that gif before too. Stop deflecting. u wanted to discuss securities so here we are..
I think it's more Hamada saying fukk Zaslov and quitting than him being fired.I thought Hamada was doing a good job.
yeah when batgirl got cancelled he walked out and they had to reel him back in.I think it's more Hamada saying fukk Zaslov and quitting than him being fired.
There was a report someone that Hamada threatened to leave when Zaslov first started removing movies and stuff iirc
yeah when batgirl got cancelled he walked out and they had to reel him back in.
he was pissed and I can understand why
I don't think it was going to be badLol @ that.. Hamada was doin some dumb sh-t.. $90M on a low budget Batgirl direct-to-DVD ass movie that nobody wanted
are you saying you wouldn't have watched this movie at all even if it was connected to the DCEU?
Probably not.. there's a lot of things that i don't watch. Bad cgi is a crime in my eyes and that's probably what it would have been w/ only a $90M budget..
now.. would i watch a Batgirl or Catwoman set in Matt Reeves universe with real actors and a budget? Yes...
See what happened here is the old regime was willing to burn through $$$ under the impression that "all content = good for streaming"
and we see now that's a bad business strategy. Netflix was never profitable putting out all those mid tier shows. Disney had hits and still lost a billion on streaming last quarter..
HBO's new strategy which will piss some people off appears to be a lot of big shows w/ budgets House of the Dragon.. The Last of Us and then for low budget stuff instead of a Batgirl it'll be some reality TV bullsh-t for women..
disney lost a billion to streaming but they have other vehicles to get that revenue back so I'm not worried and they're not either because they're strategy is working for the long term. plus it's just apart of creating a new product for your consumers they knew the losses going in when they made D+
Netflix is a host of problems from bad quality shows to subscriber drops but they're still a household name. as long as their subscriber count remains higher than it was last year it's still a success.
hbo's new strategy is anything to get that billions of debt down and that's really it. put a few hits out.
house of dragon is from the old regime. I need to wait 2-3 years before I see the new regime greenlit a show with a real budget like that.
I bet batgirl would've been just as good as Shazam and Wonder Woman 1
investors love disney world. it went up to almost $200 in 2021 because investors knew disney would become a powerhouse with all of their facilities up and running normally. their price is moving widely because of the Chinese lockdowns affecting shaghai disney land among other things. they've lost the cricket rights and warned investors that it would only be a 30 mil drop at best. they pretty much answered that with the price increases and ad tier. that should make up for the lost subscribersinvestors couldn't care less about Disney World breh.. the whole reason the share price went to close to $200 is because everything they do now is tied to subscriber numbers. They revealed that a lot of the numbers came from india at .99 cents per sub to watch sports lol. But at least they have some content that should cont. to produce hits.
Netflix has no plan at all..
You may hate the fact but HBO is still the only streamer putting out consistent top quality content from all genres. House of the Dragon just did 10 mill viewers in a single night and you got people here crying over Z-list shows that got removed... that nobody watched.
Listen to The Ringer podcast.. they lay it all out.. or don't

I still think the parks matter overall but them raising the price of D+ and Hulu is answering your argument. they're going to increase the APRU which is now what matters more in the streaming gameNot true.. Disney changed their model around. The opening up after the pandemic didn't do much that was already priced in. Aside from inflation which has most of Wall Street struggling.. they've been living and dying on what the stream growth is or isn't..
When the growth slowed.. Wall St. reacted very badly and share price went down. Now the other day they report that combined number of the bundle and shares go from low $100s to over $120.. it's all to do with streaming now.
I know you own stock but do you have disney stock? are you shorting it?
oh yeah I know they're subs are mostly coming from deals. I got it from the amex deal so as long as they keep doing that I'll have both Hulu and Disney + as long as I can.no i own Disney shares im well aware of how it's been performing. Disney will always be around but im not sold on them being the streaming powerhouse until they can get Hulu to compete in the adult space.
A lot of subs (even mine) are still from the beginning promo deals. i spent $140 on 3 years. Star Wars and Pixar are diminishing returns too. MCU is not what it was but still huge.. plus X-Men coming. Maybe Avatar can do what Star Wars can't..

I'll give you Star Wars it's probably in a worst position than DC right now.
Turning red was good I haven't seen lightyear. I hope it was just a slip up for them.
