Or she hasnt been in a role for a streaming show big enough to get the residuals.
Jenna Ortega been in five movies (American carnage, x, scream 5, the fallout, studio 666) this year and has a TV show where she's the lead.I doubt she even has 3M in the bank. All her acting roles have either been cheap indie films or cheap tv shows outside of Euphoria. Jenna Ortega makes more than her.
That two hour series premiere with Vinyl to this day still has me kinda
Show had a lot of potential but never knew what it truly wanted to be, IMO. Which is a bummer because Cannavale and Romano killed their respective roles.
I’ve never heard of a company being profitable by simply cutting. There's probably some way to save money... that new CEO vowed to save a few billion towards the debt immediately..
People need to realize..
NOBODY is profitable during the streaming wars yet. Netflix shares are down 70%. Disney shares are down 35% and they just LOST a billion dollars on streaming last quarter. Disney announced the price now gonna be $11.99 for the service. A $3/month price jump.
These companies need to do everything they can..

Bleeding out for a year before you introduce your idea is a bad strategy in my opinion.
In fact mergers usually increase unprofitably. Unless it’s just a full buyout of assets by a stronger competitor.
Discovery wasn’t the stronger company at least in branding. There’s a reason WB used HBO’s name instead of any other combo.
Which will eventually be cable all over again. People forget the reason why cable was created in the first place.Nah... by the end of the year cable will be down to 70M subs in the U.S. That number used to be 100M. Only sports is saving cable now.
People just don't want to pay. They'll maybe get Netflix for a couple months.. then bounce. Then go over to another streamer for a month.
Not sure how they will hold anyone's attention. They gonna try ad-based subs now too. Ad revenue gonna become the next shot in the arm for the streamers.
Here's my prediction: Someone (probably Apple or Amazon) gonna offer a deal where you can say buy Disney and HBO for such and such bundle.. which will be somewhat "cable" but not the cable we remember..
Then Comcast and Google etc. will start capping internet. Everyone gonna end up paying $200+/month for internet + a couple streamers + however much GB they use.

Even if/when streaming start hiding certain episodes and movies in tiers, but even then that’s still essentially cable all over again in how it operates. In theory, the Disney+ separate releases of Black Widow and Mulan was the true blueprint in helping to solve the streaming/revenue issue and it’s only a matter of time before someone else tries it again. But people can't scam internet use and access. They will be forced to buy it and forced to pay a premium on how much they are streaming/downloading.
If people think these corporations who actually own your internet access are just gonna take an L, they are in for a rude awakening

At some point, something is going to have to give though as a lot of these movies are too small to release in theaters, but it’s also not financially feasible releasing them via stream under the current system as you have no way of truly knowing how much they’re bringing in. That’s why I’m surprised more streaming service haven’t scrapped releases altogether like HBO/Discovery are doing. The only reason they haven't tried again is because Black Widow made good money the 1st few days and then fell off a cliff..
Theaters still bring in the most revenue for big budget joints. Maybe that changes one day but the public isn't ready yet.. they rather go out and have it be a night out for them than to pay $30 on a streamer
But gen z are more homebound so maybe it changes once we age out
Sidney Sweeney doesn't have enough pull to be getting any real residuals from Euphoria other than the standard SAG which isn't much. I'm sure none of those actors outside of Zendaya have any real back-end on it. Those residuals they are talking about are to the studio and producers. Sidney was a unknown before Euphoria and only makes real money on her endorsements. That's what she used to buy her house and up her standard up living.I thought Sydney Sweeney was just complaining about how streaming doesn’t pay residuals so that’s why she has to stay working without breaks?
