PvP is one thing but Horde Mode was everything in Gears

I remember a bunch of my friends buying Gears 3 and going straight to horde, not even touching the campaign for the first few days lol

The Gears MP still had an impact on gamers. Broken or hig damage shotguns were referred to GoW shotgun. It wasnt until a couple years ago n̈q that people substituted Gears shotty to Fornite blue pump.

It's actually the other way around, most people bought Gears 1 and 2 for the MP. I literally don't know anyone who bought Gears and was like "Yo I can't wait to see what happens to Marcus Phoenix!.

If it wasn't the MP, it was the horde mode.

If you said Uncharted was known for it's SP over MP then I'd agree.

Again if you mean multiplayer Aka (PVP/ranked) I strongly disagree as someone that was part of a best selling GS for Xbox and sports titles around those times, your average person hated the straight up PVP (multiplayer aspect)


If you including all online multiplayer features I agree, online co op and horde mode and other multiplayer custom rooms was a huge deal.

But the multiplayer PVP wasn't why casuals were grabbing copies of gears, as always it was to play with friends.

He's not totally wrong, Gears 1 was special because of the use of Unreal engine 3 was it?
The graphics at the time was mind blowing. Multiplayer was ok but not everyone fukked with it. But EVERYONE fukked with Gears
I can confidently say less than half the people who bought it played the multiplayer.

And then there's the people who swear by gears, I know a guy with a tattoo n shyt. Gears 2 and 3 just expanded that base but after Gears 3?
