New York seemed like a small world
:psalute:
I don’t think LL and Tribe are from Southside. But I will defer to an actual New Yorker on that. :prodigylol:
Southside, Hollis, St. Albans, Springfield Hardens, are towns that surround what’s considered Jamaica proper.
But sometimes people use Jamaica as a blanket term for all of them. Most likely cause of Jamaica Ave. EDIT: ....which is the cultural center of the entire area. All the shop, buses and trains are located along here so people from those surrounding towns convene there and it technically becomes an extension of their own town in a way.
The Colosseum Mall off 165th st and Jamaica Ave was a hangout spot for a lot of the rappers mentioned in this post.
Wrong. P had alotta people from Hempstead. P was raised in Hempstead. And it’s Hempstead nikkas that he brought to get retaliation when he got stomped out and robbed by certain grimey QB nikkas I dont even gotta name.P might technically be from Hempstead and then moved in Lefrak, but I consider him a QB dude all day. He stayed in QB all day, his crew was from QB, and he repped QB hard as fukk all day.
And at this movie portraying young Nasir as all bashful and shyt. Still, even fake young Nasir went in with the bars.
I know people who know him.
I wish it was still in its heyday but its actually for sale right now. People only go there these days for cheap gold, sneakers, and I think it’s still one of the only places on the ave that still airbrushes clothing? I pass it all the time but I haven’t been inside in AGES.P on Everyday Gunplay
These Genius lyrics are terrible

Compton VS QB is a battle.
South Jamaica Queens and Jamaica Queens are 2 neighborhoods that are literally right next to each to each other. There's alot of overlap, but they are distinct but still the same area
Similar to Flatbush Brooklyn, and East Flatbush Brooklyn. I'm from Brooklyn so I could tell the difference from East Flatbush and Flatbush by eyesight
Put it this way. Jamaica Queens is the area where people know about more. People from all over NY come through there if they are coming to Queens. Where the J train is, LIRR railroad, York Cuny college etc etc
South Jamaica Queens is more residential, and more known in the Hip Hop world cause the legends are from there
Hope I didn't confuse ya'll
Tribe represents Linden blvd. That's Southside. I don't know what side of Linden...the one closer to Lincoln park or towards Rochdale
He probably was...till he finally didn't take his ass to schoolyo they made him look like a square ass motherfukker lol
This is the answer. North Bronx never produced much because the black areas north of Gun Hill Rd are Jamaican. It's no coincidence that Brooklyns historically AA area of Bed Stuy produced way more rappers than a Carribean area like Flatbush.More than likely there was a competitive internal culture that wasn't diluted by other distractions/major influences in the neighborhood. Furthermore the ethnic makeup of QB probably has a lot more to do with QB's success than any prevalent interclass dynamics as you stated, as it is by most evidence more AA descendant based than several large Black community (I'm open to seeing evidence to the contrary) in NYC. The most notable North Bronx Black neighborhoods for example have long had more interclass Black interaction than QB and despite being separated by only several miles from the birthplace of hip-hop have never consistently produced a string of notable MC's.
