Bronx, NYC
easy to say, but harder to say 'why'. And even harder, offer a better theory.

More than likely there was a competitive internal culture that wasn't diluted by other distractions/major influences in the neighborhood. Furthermore the ethnic makeup of QB probably has a lot more to do with QB's success than any prevalent interclass dynamics as you stated, as it is by most evidence more AA descendant based than several large Black community (I'm open to seeing evidence to the contrary) in NYC. The most notable North Bronx Black neighborhoods for example have long had more interclass Black interaction than QB and despite being separated by only several miles from the birthplace of hip-hop have never consistently produced a string of notable MC's.

And to think if it wasn't for Shante inspiring Nas and in turn inspiring Gawdfather on the Nastradamus Tour then we would have never got that 2002-2012 run that's still unmatched til this day.

If they could all get along, they would've conquered rap :mjcry:

They did, it was called G-Unit and they reigned supreme (pun intended).

Fair point. You're basically saying that there are more Black people in QB than any other neighborhood in NYC?

Corona, beatnuts.

isn't Kool G Rap also from Corona?

nope

Southside Jamaica queens birthed a lot of rappers

50 cent
Nicki Minaj
Tribe Called Quest
LL Cool J
Lost Boyz
Loyd Banks
Salt N Pepa

There's some I'm missing

No where near as many as Queensbridge
:psalute:
I don’t think LL and Tribe are from Southside. But I will defer to an actual New Yorker on that. :prodigylol:

G Rap is from Corona I thought.
I always associated P more with Hempstead. He does have that Lefrak connection though, QB as well of course.
