My point was those songs you listed aren't standouts. Your argument fell apart at that point, there was no reason to continue on. Listing a bunch of radio singles doesn't explain how Ross has been more consistent with each album

POM -> Trilla -> Teflon Don -> DTR - Rich Forever/GFID

Do you not understand what consistent means? :beli:

RD -> Vol. 1 -> Vol. 2 -> Vol. 3 -> Blueprint

Two classics but, 3 of those albums are ehh, 2 of which are really :weirdo:

Any one of those Jay albums are better than Teflon Don & POM. The latter is the worst album in this discussion BY FAR

I didn't name any of those because I don't remember them joints being hotter, as in everybody outside of the internet listening to it :childplease:

I could've put up loads of Rick Ross album cuts & supportings singles too :dry: but, I didn't. I only picked the smash joints that was burning up the streets & radio. You nikkas making something out of nothing.

I'm making something out of what you posted. You didn't remember those joints being hotter, as in outside the internet (which is really fukking hilarious when I've got some Reasonable Doubt tracks listed there), yet you remember Maybach Music 1 & 3 and both Mafia Musics being hotter. Yet those tracks I posted actually charted....whereas the Ross ones I mentioned didn't chart. Pretty much all of those tracks you don't remember being hotter charted higher than Maybach Music 2 and some even charted higher than Hustlin. Yeah, you could have put up loads of Ross album cuts and supporting singles (which you already kinda did) and I'd tell you which ones didn't chart and then point out that I've got certified hip hop classics that I've already named for Jay that did chart. Then I'd post this smilie :youngsabo:...maybe this one too :wow:

But to the crux of the matter, your argument sucks mainly because, yeah it's subjective, but most Jay fans will straight up tell you those Vol. albums had weaknesses and can point them out. Ross' catalogue has been called entirely classic in this very thread and others :comeon:. When people try to have debates about Ross' music with Ross stans they're called nerds, outsiders etc. and said Ross stans continue about their day posting :obama: post after post. You say Jay has a couple classics and albums that are :weirdo:, yet when tons of people say Ross says nothing in his rhymes, is making the same songs over and over again, and is carried by beats that are becoming repetitive y'all don't want to hear it. When Ross stans bring up his popularity to try and say he's a legend and sane individuals put up actual numbers that show Ross has never even come close to seeing J. Cole sales wise it stops being about popularity and becomes about the music which you refuse to debate about. So what discussion were you expecting exactly?

:youngsabo:

And I'll save you the time and post your response to this for you:

GFID was terrible lmfao

aside from a handful of songs there was absolutely no substance. 911, Hold Me Back, Maybach Music IV are some of the most generic songs I have ever heard. This was supposed to be like a modern Life After Death but Rawse dropped the ball on this one and instead we have freestyled Jay verses, terrible ghost written Dre verses, poor beats and very little substance.

every rap fan thinks their opinion is greater and more valid. when will yall realize that really no one is ever right or wrong with these arguments. its all about personal taste and perspective. u can name facts and the next can either refute or agree. dont trip just do u and enjoy the music.

my opinion. Ross is one of the best rappers we have in the game right now and he probably will be a legend. His singles always hit. seems like to some fans if you have hot songs that means u cant be a good artist?? make up your minds and stop being so closed minded.

Legend seems like a reach until he makes some classic music. I'm not talking about a few die hard internet posters calling it classic as part of their paid marketing gigs.

I'm talking about organic, in the streets and cars, 10 years after it drops White folks turning the instrumental into elevator music, universal classic.

Right now its easy to dismiss Ross because his sales dont reflect his internet popularity. His music has been consistently good (only the haters are denying this) even if it is made by committee and rarely features anything creative or risky or dangerous.

To compare an artist who consistently fights to go gold to rappers who sell millions (Jay sold more than 5 million copies of Vol 2. Thats the same number of people who paid for AEOM & LAD when you factor in how double albums's sales are counted) is asinine. Ross has yet to make an album that penetrates the collective conscious of America like Doggystyle, GRODT, It Takes a Nation, Aquemini, or even TM101.

Save all the talk about who he signed to his label and who his industry friends are or how he 'ended 50's career' without dropping any actual diss records. Instead of lowering the bar, we should be challenging Ross to make a legendary impact through his music.

Y do nikkas like you act as if the Internet isn't the real world? This is 2012 that Internet doesn't fly anymore. If Ross Is buzzing on Internet he is buzzin in the streets.

Because they try to come up with every reason in the world to discredit someone they don't like. Their idea of being hot in the streets is hearing one guy bumping the music. Obviously Ross has the streets and internet on fire. fukk what they heard:lolbron:
