You stopped reading because you dont have shyt to say :upsetfavre:

Those songs mentioned weren't even the best songs on those respective albums, get the entire fukk outta here with that nonsense.

On top of that, you mean to tell me you listened to Jay-Z's first 5 LP's, including Reasonable Doubt and Vol. 1, and the 6 best songs to you were

Hard Knock Life, Can I Get A, Big Pimpin, Do It Again, I Just Wanna Love U, Hey Papi

yet you expect nikkas on here to take your opinion seriously? :russ:

I own EVERY Jay-Z album. fukk I look like arguing with internet losers about what were each rapper's standout songs when I can just name the billboard charted songs instead? :stopitslime: fukking morons on here :stopitslime:

lol I didn't even peep this edit. Half those Ross songs didn't even chart you simple fukk

Legend seems like a reach until he makes some classic music. I'm not talking about a few die hard internet posters calling it classic as part of their paid marketing gigs.

I'm talking about organic, in the streets and cars, 10 years after it drops White folks turning the instrumental into elevator music, universal classic.

Right now its easy to dismiss Ross because his sales dont reflect his internet popularity. His music has been consistently good (only the haters are denying this) even if it is made by committee and rarely features anything creative or risky or dangerous.

To compare an artist who consistently fights to go gold to rappers who sell millions (Jay sold more than 5 million copies of Vol 2. Thats the same number of people who paid for AEOM & LAD when you factor in how double albums's sales are counted) is asinine. Ross has yet to make an album that penetrates the collective conscious of America like Doggystyle, GRODT, It Takes a Nation, Aquemini, or even TM101.

Save all the talk about who he signed to his label and who his industry friends are or how he 'ended 50's career' without dropping any actual diss records. Instead of lowering the bar, we should be challenging Ross to make a legendary impact through his music.

Exactly, when i heard hustlin' i wasn't expecting too much. When i got POM and heard tracks like Its My Time, Push it, Street Life and so on I knew he had potential. When Trilla dropped and I heard Maybach Music and Luxury Tax i knew he could make some good music. DTR solidified for it me.

Same here. I was listening to them joints like :mjpls: he might make it.

Hit You From the Back was my shyt back then too :obama:

Breh, I was ready to just post a random laughing smiley cause you were big enough to admit you were wrong. Then you edited it to include that last line. So I'm gonna do the slight research it takes and show you some other Jay tracks that charted in the time span you specified:

Dead Presidents
Can't Knock The Hustle
Feelin' It
Who You Wit
U Don't Know
Hovi Baby

No. You came in here deflecting :upsetfavre:

I said at this point in Ross' career, 5 albums in, he stacked up pretty well to Jay, at that point in his career. Jay had more classics but, more duds. Ross been more consistent.

Now, what exactly did you refute about that? :upsetfavre: You went off into some tangent about whether I chose the right songs  when I only named those "safe universal songs" to avoid these pointless semantics in the first place

My point was those songs you listed aren't standouts. Your argument fell apart at that point, there was no reason to continue on. Listing a bunch of radio singles doesn't explain how Ross has been more consistent with each album

I didn't name any of those because I don't remember them joints being hotter, as in everybody outside of the internet listening to it :childplease:

I could've put up loads of Rick Ross album cuts & supportings singles too  but, I didn't. I only picked the smash joints that was burning up the streets & radio. You nikkas making something out of nothing.
