dont compare Jay Z to Rick Ross, oh by the way like I said longevity, Jay has been around for 20+ years...holla at me in 15 years with the Rick Ross argument...you are not thinking logical...

:wtf:

That's because his skillset/longetivity shyts on Ricky's

Let's compare both artists 5 albums into their career...unlike these kids on here, I actually remembered both very well.

Reasonable Doubt
In My Lifetime vol. 1
Hard Knock Life
Life & Times vol. 3
Roc La Familia/Blueprint

(standout songs: Hard Knock Life, Can I Get A, Big Pimpin, Do It Again, I Just Wanna Love U, Hey Papi)

Port of Miami
Trilla
Deeper than Rap
Teflon Don
Rich Forever/God Forgives I Dont

(standout songs: Aston Martin Music, Hustlin, BMF, The Boss, Magnificent, Maybach Music I/II/III, Mafia Music I/II)

Saying anything other than :leon: is just hate. Ross stacks up. Jay had higher peaks with RD & BP but, dropped the ball on the volumes. Ross doesn't have classics in the same breath as RD & BP but, all of his records have been consistently good. No "Sunshine" type records :scusthov: No entire half of filler :scusthov:

I aint saying Ross gonna have a career as good as Hov's, I'm just saying :smugfavre:

I dont even consider that hip hop...i live in miami so I heard of this dude way before he blew, he has sick beats which again again watered down hip hop (beats like dj premiere, large professor etc) these dj khaled @ss beats I dont consider hip hop, drake singing, lil wayne talking his garbage, nikki minages or however you spell the name, i bet you consider that hip hop too:merchant:

POM is a personal classic of mine. The only album from Ross that i dont like is Trilla. I like some of the songs on it though(of course Maybach Music 1). I didn't take Ross seriously as an emcee til the DTR era.

DTR, TD, and GFID make him a legend in my eyes and a top 5 DOA in my book. Ross could possibly be my favorite rapper ever if he can drop 2 more albums of equal value to GFID.

Not naming album cuts. Too subjective. We'd been arguing all day about what were the best songs. Strictly going by billboard here.

Imagine if all someone knew about Jay was his radio singles. That's a very ignorant way to judge a rapper's discography. I mean name a rapper whose radio singles are better than the album cuts....i dont think u can.

EDUCATE YOURSELF on a rapper's music before u pass judgement.

Got to respectfully disagree. Jay Z was my dude growing up :takedat: I know that nikka's discography inside & out but, his time is over :takedat: And....I get the same feeling listening to Ross today that Jay used to give me 10 years ago. So I fukks with him :obama:

Ross is the most popular in an era where skills don't matter anymore.let's be real..
Now urban youth who listen to rap don't want to hear about ghosts from the past..I'd get tired if hearing about illmatic too..i'm sure if I was young I'd want someone from my era I could place on that legend list...

But let's be real.

You could read the sports section of the newspaper over Ross beats

Exactly, when i heard hustlin' i wasn't expecting too much. When i got POM and heard tracks like Its My Time, Push it, Street Life and so on I knew he had potential. When Trilla dropped and I heard Maybach Music and Luxury Tax i knew he could make some good music. DTR solidified for it me.
