Kinda makes me sad when people say stuff like who cares if the music still bangs

It's just not hip hop

It's pop music and that's fine

But I hate this whole who cares shyt

That shyt pains me that being a true MC isn't taken more serious

lol, popular rappers outsource their raps just like popular producers outsource their beats

for some reason I'm not shocked or surprised.

I just don't understand how y'all can't hear when other cats be writing

its so obvious.

See this is the type of shyt I'm talking about.

We have proof for Drake. Meanwhile both Nas and Jay Electronica point blank said that he never wrote for Nas. This has been cleared up since 2012:

Jay Electronica Dismisses Nas Ghostwriting Rumors, Calls Him A 'Godfather'

"Nas is one of the gods, one of the greatest of all time, one of the godfathers of even my own style," he said. "I met him on a humble submission and he is one of the greatest ever — he never has or never will need a ghostwriter. He's legendary, his pen game is unquestionable; salute to Nas.

"And all of the other bullsh--, is just bullsh--," he added, addressing the stories that have been told over the past few weeks.

I swear every Drake thread is full of people quoting supposed "facts" that have no basis in reality.

Didn't Kia Shine write some of "Best I ever Had" ? Then Drake denied it. Yet Kia Shine received Billboard plaques for it ? Lol.
Kia Shine didn't write shyt he produced Do It For The Boy by Lil Wayne which Best I Ever Had interpolates and tried to hustle royalties.

The only arguments people have for ghostwriting are:

1. "B-b-b-b-but other rappers do it" - with no proof.

2. "Singers don't write their own songs, but we still consider them great" - ignoring one glaring obvious thing - the talent of singing.

You can get on YouTube with a guitar, turn on your webcam and sing John Lennon with all your heart, someone can look at that and see your talent, and sign you, because your talent is your voice. You can sing in a way very few of the human population can. They know they can give you writers, buy your wardrobe, and teach you how to dance, and give you a shot at stardom.

You can't get on YouTube, turn on your webcam and spit a Jay-Z verse word for word and get a record deal, because there is no talent in recitation. Being able to read and recite rap lyrics doesn't make you a rapper, being able to write and then perform your own words makes you a rapper.

Please, people, I am so tired of reading and hearing the "singers don't write" argument. Even from people who should know better like radio personalities.

Correct (after deeply reading into it).

Point is...even back then. When their is smoke, their is fire when it comes to the writing shyt.
