I want to give Fields the benefit of the doubt….I watch a lot of Bears games last season given that I live near the city but he still plays like a rookie QB. I haven’t seen any progression from with his intangibles. The physical tools are there…he’s not a blazing speed runner like Lamar but he has the ability to escape from pressure and break a big run on occasions.

The Bears are trash though….this is a case of everyone just being bad but Fields gotta do better.

I think this was one of the many reasons Niners passed over him. They scouted Fields tape and came away thinking Trey Sermon was a bigger part of why OSU offense was good. They drafted Sermon and he was a bust :francis:
Trey Sermon somehow had more catches than Jaxon Smith Njigba and Jameson Williams.
And that was with just 12 catches. That was the sign.

Again it would be unconventional though.

It’s cause they couldn’t even crack the two deep hence why Jameson transferred the next season

Last year when I made that thread about him being trash he went on a crazy run of good scrambling games right after :hubie:
He probably need an RPO offense built around his legs with easy reads

if he’s as good as advertised, then he could be the one to turn it around. The colts had no real history at qb before Peyton came to town and rewrote it. Sometimes you jsut have to believe in yourself and ability. Besides that’s a still a major market with a vacant spot(historically) at the most important spot in the sport. The most important qb in the franchise history is jim McMahon. It wouldn’t take much to surpass that besides longevity and success. Look at what Lamar is doin for Baltimore,

But Irsay and Polian had a plan for Peyton and day one he had 2 HOFers in Faulk and Marvin. And then right after that Edgerrin James. They also built that line up every year.

The Bears gonna just throw Caleb on this same ass roster and say good luck. I have no faith the Bears will be able to replicate that.

Bears have the Panthers pick too
They're trash
They have just as much as of a chance as the Cardinals to get the 2 piece combo of Caleb & MHJ

What’s the last OSU qb to be a pro bowler?

Not trying to pile on, but it is strange that a top 3 all time CFB program hasn’t produced a quality nfl qb in the last 30+ years. Meanwhile there’s MFers from DII school and stuff that went to SBs.

Nothing is strange about it. Y'all just dikk eating as usual. TO THIS DAY, nobody can still answer my question I asked on here a couple of years ago. What top school is consistently churning out these HOF NFL QBs? The best ones usually come from smaller schools for whatever reason.

There is no quarterback school.

Of the 111 unique programs that produced at least one drafted quarterback, 45 (40.5 percent) produced only one. Only 35 schools have produced three or more drafted quarterbacks since 2001, and only three of those have an average weighted career AV of 50 or higher.

After Brady, four quarterbacks were drafted out of scum University and only one has a nonzero weighted career AV (Chad Henne, 27). But throw Brady’s 179 into the group, and the resulting 41.2 average almost doubles Oklahoma’s five-QB mark.

Some of these schools got lucky and "hit" literally once in 1-2 centuries and all of a sudden, it's an OSU thing instead of a situational/individual one :dead:

@Whips-n-Chains If not for Kirk Cousins (who mostly gets shyt on by everybody here), we'd be talking about why no good QBs come out of a school like MSU. Fukkin Drew Stanton and Brian Hoyer :deadrose:

I'm confused as to why you're in here on the :deadhorse: OSU QB narrative.

If not for Tua recently (if he even continues on his trajectory), we'd be talking about why they keep pushing out bums like AJ McCarron, Greg McElroy & Mac Jones.

If not for Joe Burrow (recently), we'd be talking about bum as Matt Flynn, Jamarcus & Zach Mettenberger

Y'all niccas kill me

Didn’t they clear a lot cap space last season at the deadline? They setting themselves up for a bright future
