I personally prefer 2pacalypse and S4MN the most out of Pac's albums, I find myself listening to them the most. I love that gritty early 90's sound
This line always gets me - "now I'm sure to be rich to 96"
well im not shyting on the album per say, i just wanted to clarify to make sure no historical revisionism is happening
and my views on the album is shaped by the music itself. i thought it was a solid album, and there are a handful of tracks that would make it to a Best of Pac playlist or collection. But only half the album was enjoyable, in my opinion
pac was still finding himself, which there is nothing wrong with,. i actually appreciate the raw, unpolished, amateur pac, it places things in context and allows us to chart his progress
Funny you should point ojt the raw and unpolishedness of S4MN because when I point out haw unpolished RTD and illmatic are nikkaz act like im talkin foreign. I dont think its revisionist history to take another look at older shyt. I found an mp3 cd of shyt I made back in 2000 and it had canibus shyt, eminem, biggie, and a whole bunch of shyt I wouldnt listen to now. Just cuz I did or didnt listen to some shyt then doesnt mean I can or cant appreciate later.well im not shyting on the album per say, i just wanted to clarify to make sure no historical revisionism is happening

Papaz Song shyts on some catalogs of nikkaz some people here consider the goat.
ya but cmon man, ready to die and illmatic sound like dre 2001 compared to strictly for ma nikkaz, and thats not a knock on pac, he had bobcat and stretch doing his beats while those albums were all star production collaborations
I like and appreciate it for what it is..but again to me, i cant give it anything more than 3-3.5 mics, thug life on the other hand....
Nope. They dont. Those two albums sound extremely dated with early 90s production. Biggie yellin at the mic n shyt. Not every track but enough. Meanwhile Pac had songs like Keep Ya Head Up on S4MN which sounds great today. I agree with the 3-3.5 but RTD is no better and illmatic is a 1.5-2. Both naS and Biggie improved exponentially on their 2nd effortsya but cmon man, ready to die and illmatic sound like dre 2001 compared to strictly for ma nikkaz, and thats not a knock on pac, he had bobcat and stretch doing his beats while those albums were all star production collaborations

dre 2001 is worth no more than 4 mics.
youre insulting illmatic & ready to die.

i meant in terms of sound, sonically, production etc....we were talking about raw and unpolished sounds
Yeah we'll have to agree to disagree. I think most people parttake in group think on those two albums because their followups completely shyt on the debuts. And when you take the one more chance rmx out of the equation that album gets that much worse.man i dont know what to tell ya bruh, illmatic and ready to die are both thorough undisputed classics..both albums are night and day over pacs first 2 joints
guess we ll have to agree to disagree
