I'm still holding onto the theory that WWE secretly thinks the women overachieved and they have no choice but to give them the main event at WrestleMania, so if they do everything in their power to destroy the storyline and make it as bizarre as possible, the hype will die down, the match will be negatively affected as a result, and everyone will think the women are the problem. Then they will never get the main event slot again.

This is pretty much what they did with the women’s pay per view. They tried to make it terrible so they could blame the women and never do one again. Same way they sabotage every wrestler who gets over so they can have a reason to never push anyone properly. That’s their business model. Make sure nobody becomes a star so that nobody is a draw except the brand itself.
