I told you already amd your old thorough, diggin in the crates ass knows what u said
You said that the refs allowing Cle to get away with more contributed to their early success against GSW.
I also said the MAIN reason was that the Warriors role players didn't take open shots + missed open shots. Yes their physical play (which again I reiterated by saying it was mostly down to them shutting down Curry's options = 'Illegal defense') did play a part in their success. It's not absolute, there were many factors that led to the Cavs taking Games 2 and 3.
By me saying that the physical play of the late 90s wouldn't have as much of an effect as you're making it out to be, is that they experienced similar physical play all throughout last season's playoffs. I never said or insinuated it wouldn't affect their play at all, just that it wouldn't be the same as the Bulls dealing with an elite zone defense and you making it that they wouldn't be able to deal with physical play like the the WCSF and Finals didn't happen.
If the Warriors role players actually hit open shots in those first few games, the Cavs "physical play" would be a footnote in that series.
Yeah I watched two teams that are inferior to the Bulls in every way jump out to 2-1 leads..
That's not the point in why i brought up those series. I referenced them purely based on them being physical series = little to no difference between the late 90s playoffs.
If u are constantly getting bumped and grabbed thats gonna affect u no matter how u play especially if u arent used to it.
You're speaking as if that shyt doesn't go on into today's league.
What are you even arguing here? We saw the physical play affect them against limited teams. You tried to use it as an excuse before but now we gonna act like even more physical play isnt gonna hurt them against a great squad.
i) The Bulls wouldn't be able to get away with MORE physical play
ii) The difference between the contact allowed in the 97 playoffs and 15 playoffs is a very slim margin ('15 Finals being just as physical, if not more)
iii) The Cavs still played physical defense, pushing and grabbing in the latter half of that series - you know what the difference was? The Warriors role players actually took and made their open shots. All that physical play didn't stop the Warriors from blowin them out.
