I wouldn't mind making $200k, then I could get back to you all about if it is middle class or not. HA!

QUEENS NY
I dont get where "struggling" is coming from.

200k in NY isnt struggling...its pretty good...hence middle class.

More so from your initial post where it came out like you were saying 200k isn't good in NYC, that was before you clarified your initial statement.

It's four times the national average... Let's say the family in question lives in a mansion, ok? Let's say they live in a house that costs 5k a month total with bills and the mortgage?

That would mean that they would have around 13k a month left... lets be GENEROUS to your argument and send off 3k for a car lease and groceries...

lets SAY that they even paid the Clinton Rates... with the family deductions that leaves about 7.5k a month of disposable income...

Nearly 2k a week.

(How generous am I being right now that a family would really live this lavishly, but for Trip's sake, lets do it)

I literally factored in the taxes though... at the HIGHEST rate without accountants saving you serious cash...

In my primative calculations, I didn't even calculate how much people really save on their taxes and I factored in someone living in a lavish 4 bedroom townhouse or loft with 2 kids, leasing a 2-3k a month car (Bentley?)

1500 a month on groceries (:heh: what are they eating?)

So this calculation, with the highest possible tax rate, 2012 Bentley, and apparently caviar and silk dreams for Dinner, leaves 7.5k disposable income on 20k a month.

In a more reasonable calculation, the frugal spenders would actually have closer to 11-12 thousand dollars every month in totally disposable income.

Ugh, trying to stay away from politics. But Romney really needs to consult with Patrick Muttart when it comes to the middle class....

ok, besides the crazy numbers, what does that mean exactly? "no" it's not $100k, it's 200-250k and less :what: :mindblown:

The boy is delusional, dawg. Seriously.

See, HERE'S the fatal flaw in Team Romney's rationale:

His pale Lurch lookin' ass was asked point blank if the threshold for what constitutes middle income is $100,000, and instead he set an even HIGHER threshold for what constitutes middle income.

:rudy:

So wait, let's do some math here:

  • If middle income is $200k-$250k, then UPPER middle income is at least, what, $300k-$350k?
  • That means LOWER middle income is, what....about $100k-$150k?
  • So anything $100k and under is LOWER income.

So wait...... :snoop:

....soooo basically, "middle income", according to ol' Richie Rich here, is either (a) a two-income household where each person averages $100k-$125k apiece, or (b) a single person who makes $200k-$250k per year.

Now MIND YOU, this bytch nikka didn't say "upper" middle income...no, no, no, he didn't quantify it at all.

So according to him, a two-income household where both people make $40k apiece ($80k) per year (or again, a single person who makes anywhere from $60k-75k per year, which is pretty decent money for a single fukking person) is, technically, POOR?

So if that's the new poverty line threshold, then every household with a combined income of, say, $60,000 or less should be eligible for food stamps, welfare, Medicare and WIC then, nikka. :birdman:

The reality is, the middle class has been disappearing for years, and the right wing wants to dupe you into believing otherwise by redefining the thresholds for what constitutes middle income under the guise of "standing up for the average American" and "taking back America", which means excluding YOUR black asses, nikkas... :scusthov:

Welcome to the new poverty, you bytches. :noah::why:

You make 200K in Dallas and you are damn near :takedat: status.

I dunno why, but that shyt got me :pachaha::pachaha::pachaha::heh::heh::heh:

And yes, people need to stop fukkin' frontin'. The "average American" DOES NOT make no fukkin' upwards of even $150k, let alone no damn $200k, whether that's combined household income or a single person. Again, we're talkin' AVERAGE AMERICAN.

Romney is a fukking crackhead.

Dude is right though. Wealth doesn't even really begin until you're pulling half a million a year. Most people who earn below this are merely upper middle class at best, working for someone else.
