no its not

a married household with kids...200k in the boroughs, LI, westchester is median....that aint rich
That depends on how and where you want to live

200k a year you ain't gonna be in East NY or The Stuy or Red Hook or even the rougher parts of Flatbush

My homie just bought crib out in Bellmore for 250. He's about to marry his girl and they got no kids but it's all about how you want to live.

Even though it's unlikely, I'm out if he wins, not even joking.

:myman:

BRAZIL!!!!!

I wish Herman McCain won the nomination. He would have been more entertaining than this trainwreck.

Real talk, Herman Cain had he got the nod, coulda messed around and won it all. :usure:

regarding Romney though, damn how outta touch can you be? Any household pulling in 250G's a year could easily in about 10 years be a millionaire household. Middle Americans arent having it THAT easy.

It's all about how you live with that 200k, alot of people in today's world live beyond their means.

of course...but say 200k with 2 kids in NY. Mortgage, college, retirement...that isnt fukk you money at all

$200,000 a year in any city outside of New York, Los Angeles & the Bay area means you're sitting pretty fukking well...

If I was making 200,000k I wouldn't put myself in a situation where I'm stretching myself thin. Whether that's renting instead of owning or just finding a cheaper place to live but that's just me though.

Take that back, it's top 3%. :obama:

Tax increase for the rich? Might be only 3% of taxpayers - Aug. 11, 2011

If you're making 200k+ you shouldn't be having ANY money issues. Not many jobs even pay that much, that's like doctor/lawyer/CEO territory.

I realize that housing costs are stupid high in New York, but that's still bordering on rich status. Let's not forget average household income in America is about $50k.

hey I agree with you....just the OP made it sound like Romney thinks the middle class is between 200-250k...when in reality that number is the top of the middle class...bc 200k in NY for a family of 4 is good....but it isnt wealthy

You make 200K in Dallas and you are damn near :takedat: status.

You can build a HUGE, HUGE house.

Sure 200k in NYC isn't the same as just about anywhere in the country but if you're household income is 200k and 2 kids and you're still struggling to get by in NYC, odds are you're doing something wrong with your money to begin with.

I dont get where "struggling" is coming from.

200k in NY isnt struggling...its pretty good...hence middle class.

It's four times the national average... Let's say the family in question lives in a mansion, ok? Let's say they live in a house that costs 5k a month total with bills and the mortgage?

That would mean that they would have around 13k a month left... lets be GENEROUS to your argument and send off 3k for a car lease and groceries...

lets SAY that they even paid the Clinton Rates... with the family deductions that leaves about 7.5k a month of disposable income...

Nearly 2k a week.

(How generous am I being right now that a family would really live this lavishly, but for Trip's sake, lets do it)
