I can see why he said this. It’s like when these dumbass celebrities think that their success proves racism is over, except with Roman he probably sees that tenfold because of the varied success of his many family members. It’s naive, selfish and misguided in both scenarios.

I’m sure he thought this had nothing to do with racist stereotypes ....

I'll believe that when we get some more color in the main event scenes on all three shows.

I'll give the devil his due and say that the E has made inroads to being more diverse. Generally speaking, your prospects as a person of color coming in now are much better than they were 20 or even 10 years ago.

The biggest hole obviously is still the main event scene. You got Roman, Shinsuke, and Almas as the one person of color for reach of their respective brands, then a sea of white faces after that. For the women on main, if you aren't white or Asuka, they ain't got shyt for you.

And obviously Vince doesn't give a damn about how good a person you are. Sami Zayn's Arab ass is pretty much objectively a better person than Randy Orton, but guess who I'd put money on winning a world title within the next year.

the WWE does not have an issue with promoting minorities...they have an issue promoting Black Wrestlers.

there are no Black Wrestlers currently in the main event picture and there hasnt been one in awhile.

A few things recently crystalized the fact that black wrestlers really haven’t made that much progress on the main roster.

1 - The Royal Rumble had 2 Japanese wrestlers win. Conversely the only black wrestler to win the Royal Rumble is the Rock. The Rock is the exception that proves the rule. If you don’t include him, the history of black wrestlers in the WWE is much worse than it already is.

2 – Why has Alexa Bliss effectively taken Sasha’s place. I started a thread on this. The main things Alexa has over Sasha is she better on the mic, whiter and blonder. Ppl claim black wrestlers aren’t over but for awhile there Sasha was naturally the most over woman’s wrestler. They cooled her down while making a conscience decision to elevate Alexa. WWE is scripted. They can get behind anyone and make them a thing (see Jinder, Alexa, etc). Why is it they rarely get behind black wrestlers?


But props to Samoans, Japanese and Hispanic wrestlers making legit strides in the WWE. Too bad the same cant be said for the Big Es, Kofis, Sashas, Apollos, Tituss, etc

damn i never expect to agree with a random white wrestling fan on youtube on an issue like this....he was off on a few things (like Alberto not deserving the title) but overall he was on the right track.
