I wouldn't mind it, but I wouldn't mind a WR with the second 1st round pick either. Especially if a major playmaker is there. If Chris Olave or Jameson Williams are there, you gotta take them IMO. To me that one pick can virtually solve the offense. O-line is set, RB room is probably set. We need another TE alongside Hock but the most important missing factor is a #1 receiver. Imagine having Olave, St Brown in the slot, Josh Reynolds outside, a vet FA and Kalif Raymond or Cephes as the fifth guy. Suddenly you have a really good receiving core.

were on the same page. My thoughts exactly. Our oline should be deep, no need to waste a pick this year in the draft at that position or Rb. Maybe a Qb but who? I think could wait on that. Give Glenn playmakers and see what his defense can really become.

First rd. De and wr
2nd rd: defense
3rd rd: defense, defense.
4-7: hope Holmes can find 1 diamond in the rough wherever he sees value.

Jameson Williams tore his ACL in the title game. I doubt he drops as a result but we can hope.

I would still trade up to take him because I don't think he'll last past the teens if not the top ten.

The prospect of having competent LBs again for once is exciting. Man I hope we nail that position, if there was one I could pick.

Get a #1 receiver, starting LB (or two), and another safety. Basically I agree with @djthegreat88

We can win with Goff. He clearly can operate an offense with the right personnel on the field. And then after next season the hope would be to pair the two first round picks to move up and get our QB of the future.

Sun God/St. Brown is WR1. At the very least, he has every bit of potential to be.

An outside threat to complement him would be ideal, and if a monster of one happens to fall, sure, take him.

Detroit needs a ton of defensive help though.

Just a question. I’m not advocating for anything. Which we would you rather have if they were both free agents this off-season. Goff or Jimmy G? Why?

Me personally I see them as the same guy. They both won based on coordinator talent and head coach talent but maybe I’m viewing this wrong.

Second question. If Holmes “banged the table” for Goff can we be certain he has the eye to draft qbs? WR’s and o and d Lineman, absolutely. Qb :jbhmm:?

I've not seen enough of Jimmy to make a good opinion but Goff? He largely plays within himself. Swift, Hockenson and St. Brown will be decent for anyone on offense. We just need to go all defensive side of the ball in the draft to give us better field position.

Jared Goff actually isn't that bad. He's shown that if the pieces are around him, he'll be competent or better. Is he a franchise player type? No. But if you had a ready-made contender and all that was needed is a steady hand at QB? He's more than sufficient for that role. Like, he'd probably kick some ass in Washington given their offense.

I think what people are missing when it comes to his Rams tenure is that Goff's rise toward being seen as an "upper-echelon" starter directly coincided with Todd Gurley becoming arguably the best RB in the league. Once Gurley went downhill, Goff did too, and the Rams haven't had that dominant runner since 2018. Now, Stafford opens up the Rams' passing offense a great deal, but these Rams are nothing like the Rams from McVay's first two years.

those are all good points. I don’t think Goff was as bad as I thought he was starting out the season and we can win with him.

My only concern is Qb’s don’t take pay cuts and when his contract is up do we resign him to a large qb contract if we win games next yea? Do we let him walk if he asks too much?

I’d hate to be in the same situation we were in with stafford where we’re paying a guy top qb money when he’s not a top qb.
