The worst unit on either team is the lions defense. There are barely any NFL players on that D.
The Lions have about 4-5 games they've lost that could have easily gone the other way. Their record is deceptive of the team's competitiveness. Campbell is likely going to slowly change the culture if he stays. The team lacks high level talent but still compete hard.

Competing hard gets you 2-14-1. The culture for that franchise cannot be changed much by the HC and even more so when they are actually competitive (like...in the division, not for a quarter) none of these guys will be in uniform so it doesn't matter much
2-14-1 doesn't tell the whole story. It's like the difference between doing a math problem and getting the work entirely wrong while coming up with the wrong answer and doing a math problem making a slight mistake and coming up with the wrong answer. How you get to a destination matters.

We are different then...because 2-14-1 IS the story. I really don't do excuses, and only provide explanations. In your example, a D- is still a D-. And the lions have been trying to explain away and "we were x many plays away" 9 losses seasons our whole lives. Just win, and these players are not good enough period.
