I have mixed feelings. The o-line is already pretty solid; definitely not a weak link on the team. Oregon was running a wide open, spread, up tempo offense when Sewell was playing. I always have doubts about those guys heading to the pros. Hopefully he's a stud and their line is dominant for the next decade.

They have no weapons outside of Hock though. If Goff is dogshyt, their next QB isn't gonna have weapons for a couple years. I don't even know how they can give a fair evaluation for him this season. Every contender has a bunch of weapons.

Just not sold on Goeff, Rams were a better team than the Lions currently equipped, and he failed there, my expectations are not high for dude:manny:. This will be looked at for years if Fields/Bears beast out.

The thing about Sewell too is he's a LT and they just extended Decker. So did they draft him to play RT, an entirely new position? Are they moving Decker to RT with that massive extension? I'm really puzzled by this one.

They have A LOT of capital in the line now. It better be dominant.

It'll be looked at and what will be ignored is how bad this team was and how he couldn't overcome all the things wrong with it.

Surround Goff with Elite oline and run game and he’ll be solid.

They say Sewell been training at RT. If he’s as good as hyped you just move Decker to right side. Good problem to have

I think Lions understand they will be bad next year. Good chance they’ll be in QB mix next year, especially with their extra 1st

I like Fields but I wouldn’t draft him for Lions. OSU Qbs are suspect until proven otherwise. Other than the Clemson game, Fields struggled against any team with a smidge of talent. Bears are desperate. Pace and Nagy trying to hold on to there jobs. Probably not ideal place for Fields to develop

My guts still tells me that the Rams are going to flop with Stafford too

Swift is a weapon too.

I’m not worried about WRs. This is a multi year rebuild, they’ll find some solid ones. You just don’t need to find them in the first round. Golladay was a third round pick remember.

This ain’t a one year thing though. Lions will be more than likely right back in the top 5 next year. And they’ll also have the extra draft capital to move up to get a qb.

It’s like people don’t get that this is a rebuild. This team will suck this year and next year...and that’s fine. Right now the goal is to get as many picks as possible and build this thing right. Goff will be here for at least two seasons. We’ll draft a QB next year and go from there. Basically this is what we just saw Miami do. You have a 4-5 year window to build talent through the draft and try to win before you gotta pay your young QB.

Oh we don't? :mjlol:.

Me personally im on board with the management/cant even disagree with bringing in pieces first. Im just not a fan of Goeff/am a fan of the prospect of Fields. If it all works out as is then fine, im good either way.
