Something else I appreciate about this movie, it showed the dark underbelly of the rebellion.

They had assassins just like the empire, and they weren't always morally right.

9/10. I dont get the complaints about the first act, cause i also enjoyed it. Coulda used a bit more background on the main characters aside from jyn, but it was actually realistic that we didnt because its like we were thrown in there so quik without that chance to really know who we fightibg with. They coulda done it when theyre on the ship on their way to their final destination but aside from that i felt this movie was great.

They all went out like bosses

They flawlessly brought Peter Cushing (Tarkin) back from the dead and made him a full fledged character through out the movie.

I marked out when he said "You may fire when ready" at the end of the movie.

They couldn't show the Death Star destroying any planets because in canon the destruction of Alderaan in ANH is the first time the Death Star was used to destroy a planet.

To me it also showed how unrefined the Death Star was while showing the scope of its potential for destruction. It makes the line about it being "fully operational" in ANH and RTOJ that much more meaningful since it could later destroy planets instantly. I really appreciated its slow capacity to destroy while it was still in beta testing so to speak
