The thing is, all female leads nowadays are gonna kick a bunch of ass and smart mouth their way through the film. You're not going to see them go through any real adversity, because there's no way in hell Hollywood would depict a woman really getting her ass kicked in a movie. Remember the uproar over the X-men billboard?
It's not that she's a woman, because the Alien movies were amazing (starring Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley) it's just that now these female roles come with stipulations that make them boring and overly predictable. Like Rey, the perfect wonder woman character who knew how to do everything and kick everyone's ass...that shyt is boring and it's pandering to women.
There's no way they'd show a female character get knocked around and have her arm cut off like Luke did, or get tortured like Han did, or get choked by a Wookie like Lando did etc. etc.

This shyt looks likes trash. Why does everything that they do have to be some kind of goddamn prequel? Do they not have new material? Also, the obvious 'diversification' is pathetic. We have a pacific-islander, a black guy, an asian, a woman, etc etc. So forced-in that it is pitiful. And then the biggest complaint, yet again they try to force some woman onto everyone as the lead. If you have the most important mission of your life, why would you entrust that to some 90 lb unathletic twiggirl who cannot act? Serious, all these soldiers and shyt they got lying around, and this lil non-charisma having girl is the lead. Between this and the debacle that was The Force Awakens, I might be through with these fakkits.
