I really enjoy Phoenix, but those summers are brutal. 117 is too hot. But go late winter or early spring or late fall when college football and NFL is in town and it’s dope.

Looking forward to visiting Phoenix next month. Haven't been in three years but had a blast the last time I was there :mjlit:

Phoenix is the one city that really surprised me. I got a cousin that spends her times between there and New Mexico, and she invites me and the wifey out from time to time and can't say nothing bad about it other than the ain't shyt ass police.

For me it's better than say Denver, and EASILY superior to Las Vegas.

It’s only about 80k black people, those areas aren’t only black and I’d like to know more about these black areas in the city because we rode around BMore a couple times and thought this feels eerily similar to Detroit.

None of the areas we discuss are only black. Sounds like you drove the thru rough areas of the city, and not the middle class sections. You definitely didn't go to Northeast Baltimore if you're seeing similarities to detroit.

SMF and LAX to VA and NC
Yea I'm down in that Raleigh area
I've been living here 6 years, come April. I've grown to love Raleigh and it's absolutely a great city for black people...
But u got dc on it??? Lol
DC's economy and middle class are stronger and more stable. It's education infrastructure is stronger too, in terms of higher education, and non-public primary school options...

These aren't lightweight criteria points. DC is too violent and that's a drawback---->its only half as dangerous as Baltimore. DC has mid public schools---->they aren't as troubled as Baltimore's...
Replace Hartford with Boston(I know it’s white) it’s extremely safe and black people can get money there.

Savannah would be in consideration for the south

I know you spent time in Richmond, would love to hear if that was in consideration

I agree with not having the following as they are just too unsafe
Detroit
Cleveland
Baltimore
Philly
Memphis
Milwaukee
Savannah didn't make my size cutoff, which is metros of 900k plus. But you may be right...

Richmond was in consideration and I definitely consider it the best overall city in Virginia, but not necessarily the best city for black people in Virginia. The income and wealth divide is pretty stark, its public school system is awful, race relations there are not as amicable as in Tidewater, high black poverty. It does have a decent economy and there is a real black middle class, and there's black representation, but for Richmond specifically I don't think its positives outweigh the negatives for us as a people...

I think Richmond is really fun but I also can't grade a city on how great it is for us, based upon how fun or eclectic it is...
I've been in Charlotte for 2 years now, and at this point, i don't like it. It's cool for families, but it has no culture whatsoever, which is very noticeable. Too corporate as well, which makes kinda boring
All Carolina cities have this problem, besides maybe Asheville and Charleston. They all have unique culture, but its hidden beneath the massive transplant population...

It's just harder to see in Carolina cities and if someone has no desire to seek it out, it's not gonna hit you in the face unless you're in the right place at the right time. Charlotte has culture bro, part of it is, that corporate nature...

People will also say Raleigh has no culture and you know I once felt that way. It isn't true and I just hung out at the biggest New Year's drop in Carolina (First Night Raleigh, mf's was out til 3am). Raleigh's culture was on full display the other night but I understand why people don't initially view these cities that way...

I still prefer the uniqueness of Virginia and California over Carolina but the Carolinas have they own unique vibe that you may grow to appreciate with time!

Never been to Phoenix, despite several trips thru the airport. Most people I know who've been love it, though. We're definitely growing and thriving there...

I have been to both Denver and Vegas, in your experience what makes Phoenix better than those cities?
