Nah.

Remember 'Silent Partner' ?
Of course you do.
That was a decent/good batch Alchemist blessed Havoc with and even that album was kind of mid in hindsight.

Let's compare that batch with what he gave Roc on this one. These sound like a bunch of leftovers from his more experimental instrumental albums.
Silent Partner was mid? :dahell:
That was the best album of 2016.

This is what Roc raps over though. Roc would never take the batch of beats from Silent Partner. Peep Mt Marci. He raps on shyt like this on there that he produced himself

I genuinely feel sorry for people who cant feel this production. These beats are tailor made for Rocs style, ALC nailed it. The beats are sparse and loose which gives Roc hella space to do his crazy flows.

One thing that blows my mind with Alcs beats is, he can ALWAYS find audio clips of people talking that relate to whatever the MC is saying. I dunno how he does that shyt.

"I seen a lot as a child I was traumatised (HELP ME!)"

"fukk an oppie I will take it in blood (BLOOD)"

Breh manages to find some old 40's/50's clips of mans talking with exact relevance to the lyrics. Its like the beat is talking back to the MC. How fukking long does he have to search through old movies and shows to find shyt like this?

Dope album but it no way in form it was fukking with Honor killed the Samurai
Ka didn’t click for me until 2020. I went back and listened to some of his prior shyt at that point with new ears, but I don’t remember what I thought of that album, or if I even gave it a fresh listen.

Flygod was another great album from 2016.

Point is, while it might be #1 for me, it was clearly one of the top 5 or 10 of that year for heads who appreciate the grimy shyt.

Maybe they just watch shyt and save the audio for a later date. That's what I used to do back in the days with movies and shows. Then go back in the stash when you need so to make a beat.

Solid album. Production is fresh. Roc run on sporadic style seem forced in some sections. The slick talk is slippin in some sections because of the forced rhyme patterns. Rubber hand grip classic roc. Not enough gripes for it to ruin the experience.

Only thing ruining my experience is action Bronson. Im looking like a stegosaurus. :dahell:. He really knows how to kill a vibe with his goofy raps.

Roc is the last decade's most special MC but what the fukk are these beats?

This is elevator music. The production isn't even weird (I can do weird) this is just straight up boring music.

There are 2 or 3 good joints on the album.
That's a fail!
I haven't been a big fan of this "elevator music" Alc these past few years, but this album's production is really good. You gotta pay attention to it though, and not just have it on as background music.
